Pa-POW!

Nothing like seeing a redfish come up and CRUSH a topwater plug!

Especially when the water conditions are perfect like they are in this video below by Trey Mikell.

If you missed Trey’s earlier video called, “If This Topwater Redfish Action Doesn’t Excite You, Then Nothing Will” (you can watch it here)

This guy has certainly mastered the art of catching redfish on topwater lures.

I can only imagine his entire tacklebox is full of his favorite topwater plugs.

Well done Trey.

Keep the videos coming.

Wow!!!

I had to watch this one a few times!

Here is the scoop:

A couple of large tuna were swimming around a harbor in Spain and these locals and tourists starting feeding them.

Of course, anytime there is free bread to be found, seagulls show up as well.

This one seagull landed at the wrong place and wrong time to find himself swallowed by a tuna.

Well, apparently tuna do not like the taste of seagull, as the tuna spits the gull out and moves on.

According to the viewers, the seagull continued to fly away and appeared to be unharmed (just a bit shocked I’m sure)

Enjoy!

Big thanks to John Stanford of Charlotte, NC for sending this in.

“They leave giant holes in the water…”

Some amazing tarpon quotes in this new video called “Silver Lining” by World Angling Studios.

Heck, I even got a new fish fist-bump to use by watching it (check it out at the 3:00-minute mark)

But just as important as seeing some amazing silver king footage, this tarpon documentary has does a great job in revealing one of the problems the Florida Keys anglers are fighting in regards to cruise ships messing up the tarpon migration.

As anglers, we all need to get behind the fisheries like the Florida Keys, and this video does a great job of spelling out why putting money and resources into reefs and the marine ecosystem is a wiser choice than spending it on cruise ship passages.

Great message guys (minus the footage of the “adult shirts”, but this video was too powerful to not share).

I love the question, “What kind of legacy do we want to leave the next generation when it comes to fishing in the Florida Keys…”

Good stuff.

And check out the school of tarpon an angler is casting into at the 9:20 mark.

What a dream fishing scenario!!!

Enjoy.

When most of here in America think about tarpon fishing, our mind usually goes to places like Boca Grande, the Florida Keys, or the East Coast Mullet Run…

Note: You can watch “The Best Tarpon Video To Ever Come Out Of Boca Grande” here now

But some of the wildest tarpon fishing goes on in the jungles of Nicaragua.

There was a viral video last year called “Jungle Poon Captured On Film” that gave us a first-hand glimpse of what tarpon fishing in the jungle is like.

And since that first amazing tarpon video, I haven’t seen or heard much about tarpon fishing in Nicaragua… until today…

Our friends over at Getaway Tours in Nicaragua upped the game even more with this brand new video they just released.

I can only imagine they are going to be booked solid with anglers wanting to get a piece of this amazing jungle tarpon fishing experience.

Enjoy.

Wow!

Talk about nailing every single point about why people love saltwater kayak fishing so much.

What a video!

I recall a few weeks ago when we interviewed angler Nick Lytle for our podcast (you can listen to the interview here) that he talked about one thing he loved so much about kayak fishing was the fact that you could hear everything.

Fish moving, mullet jumping, birds swooping down on bait… if you are quite and keep your ears perked, you can hear everything while kayak fishing.

In other words, a big part of kayak fishing is listening and being able to experience and hear nature around you while you hunt for fish.

So it was no surprise to hear kayak angler Jim Sammons mention the same thing.

He then goes on to talk about the “electricity” that hits his hands every time a fish hits the reel, not to mention, gets some outstanding footage from some nice fish (like the sailfish, Mahi, and tarpon he lands towards the end).

Great job Jim Sammons of the Kayak Fishing Show!

Enjoy.

You know a fishing video is good when footage of a fisherman harpooning a tuna from a tower is just one of many awesome scenes.

In fact, I had a hard time coming up with which thumbnail picture to use because there were so many amazing shots to choose from.

And it doesn’t hurt that the Talking Heads were playing in the background… I love that song.

This fishing compilation video was created by Matt Rissell of Rissell Outdoor Media (you can check out more on Matt here on his business Facebook page)

It appears as though this is a compilation from some of Rissell’s best fishing footage of last year.

Well done and keep up the great work Matt.

We can’t wait to see what you produce next!

Nurse sharks aren’t known for being the most aggressive sharks in the sea by any sense of the imagination…

Although don’t tell that to this angler who had a juvenile nurse shark latch on to his groin area (watch that video here)

But every once in a while these docile sharks get riled up and make a move on a diver or a spearfisherman.

In this case, it appeared as though a few scuba divers were doing their thing (blowing bubbles and taking footage of reefs), when this nurse shark decided it did not want to be on camera.

Fortunately, diver Dan Riley was able to get his camera back (hence, the footage you can see below) as the nurse shark ended up spitting out the GoPro when it realized it wasn’t a tasty meal.

Enjoy.

There is nothing like seeing a redfish come up and slam your topwater lure…

Especially when you can get a redfish to hit a topwater in the winter time like this video below from our friend Trey Mikell.

If his name sounds familiar, it’s because he made the Salt Strong viral video page before with another amazing topwater redfish video (you can see it here).

I ended up watching this redfish video a couple of times it was so awesome… the sound of the hit combined with the sound of the drag were like a beacon calling me to the flats…

Enjoy.

And great job Trey!

Triggerfish are some mean muggers!

If you’ve never encountered a triggerfish while diving, these “toothy” fish can be pretty aggressive fish.

Especially if they think you are getting too close to their food supply or homes.

This footage from Gary Lee below shows first hand just how fast and dangerous these small fish can be.

And if you think for a second that a little triggerfish can’t do much damage, then watch the viral video…
