Holy Lobster Hotel!

It’s not every day that you see this many lobster all in one place.

In fact, it’s getting rarer and rarer to find honey holes like this in the Florida Keys.

But freediver Andrew Carlson was lucky enough to capture this site down in the Florida Keys last year, and thankfully he posted it to YouTube.

Even though many of the lobster appear “short” (aka not keepers), I imagine there were still a few keepers in the back.

Either way, I’m sure they locked down the GPS numbers for this spot, and it will probably have more keepers next year.

What’s the most lobster you’ve ever seen in a single structure like this?

Let us know in the comments.

Enjoy.

I recently read that a grown man was married to his cell phone in a Vegas wedding venue.

No lie.

Humans have officially gone crazy.

As if we didn’t need more proof that people have lost their minds, now we have protestors wanting to abolish fishing because apparently fish have feeling and rights like humans…

Yep, these vegan protestors honestly believe that fish have the same rights and are on the same playing field as humans in terms of feelings and suffering.

I can only imagine the next step is giving fish the right to vote, the right to drive cars, the right to attend college, the right to get government entitlements, and the right to marry…

The top two comment from this video kind of say it all:

“Why don’t they just protest eating? No matter what you eat, something has to die to feed you hunger. It doesn’t make any difference if it’s a pig, a cow, a chicken, a fish, or a plant, it has to die for you to stay alive. That’s life folks.”

“They must be hungry and hallucinating….where did they ever find such idea or law about forbidding to eat fishes and about their rights. Living beings were created for their own purpose and many species of fishes/animals obviously are for consumption. Thus maintains the balance of nature and the balance of nutrients in our body as design by our Creator. How can you impose on sharks not to eat fish. Don’t sharks have right to live as well? Even the small organisms like Planktons have their own role in ecological cycle. The only reason why we would avoid or limit eating certain food is because of contamination and that includes veggies with pesticides or GMOs. The products of the greedy.”

More importantly, when will these vegans learn that fishermen are the ones spending hundreds of millions of dollars per year to protect the fisheries.

Without our money going to fishing conservation, the fish populations would be doomed!

Enjoy the video. Just another reminder that we all need to stick together as anglers to prevent groups like this from spreading.

What are your thoughts on abolishing fishing?

Would love to hear your comments.

Rob Fordyce is back!

Yep, the fishing show, Seahunter, is back for Season 2.

From the looks of the trailer, this will be another awesome year.

You got to love the fact that a professional angler like Rob is still all about learning and teaching.

There are so many fishermen out there that think they know it all and give up learning and you’ve got a humble guy like this who has fished almost daily for a big chunk of his life and he’s still out there soaking up new tips.

Looking forward to seeing season 2 of Seahunter.

Keep up the great work, Rob.

Holy Redfish Fillets!

I’ve seen some anglers clean a redfish pretty quickly, but this guy takes it to a whole new level.

Keep in mind these aren’t small redfish either. These are bull reds.

Now before you get your waders in a wad, remember that Louisiana anglers are allowed to keep bull redfish up to a certain amount (what we refer to as “over slot redfish” here in Florida).

And this is what a Louisiana redfish cleaning facility looks like.

Note: this is also was a razor sharp knife looks like! Wow.

Clearly, this fisherman has been cleaning these bull redfish for quite some time as he literally fillets both sides in less than 20 seconds (and from the look of his cuts, he is getting the majority of the meat).

Ever seen anyone clean a redfish quicker?

Let us know in the comments.

Enjoy.

This young man (Miller Wilson) definitely reminds me of the Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin.

And if his YouTube subscribers are any indication of his popularity (over 500,000 subscribers), this guy is going to do some big things in life.

Check out this episode of Miller getting stabbed by the world’s deadliest fish (the rockfish).

He shakes it off and then heads out in the river to land a bull shark.

Well done my man!

I love his last line…

“You are more likely to get killed taking a selfie than you are by a bull shark.”

Enjoy.

First of all, huge thanks to our friend “LifesaBeach” for sharing this with us on Twitter.

Secondly, the pictures below might be too graphic for any of you that can’t stand seeing one of the many dark sides of nature…(warning disclaimer)

If you are still with me, what we have here is a redfish (known to be opportunistic eaters) that made the mistake of trying to eat a turtle a little too big for his mouth…

According to user “23Sailfish” on the Charleston Fishing Forum that stumbled upon this redfish laying belly up in the water:

“This 32” redfish had eyes bigger than his stomach. He had tried to take on this large turtle and it was all over from there. The turtle was about 10″ long from tail to head and when the redfish tried to consume him, the backside of the shell got stuck in those few little upper teeth that redfish have and the turtle got stuck. The redfish choked to death on his last meal that he never got to enjoy.”

Well, unfortunately, this redfish that attempted to eat a turtle didn’t end well for either of them. We hate seeing two beautiful animals die, but we also remind ourselves that this is just part of everyday nature.

However, unlike humans, I doubt any redfish learned from this mistake…

Could you imagine catching an 18-POUND Mangrove Snapper?

I think for most of us, we would love to catch a 5-pound mangrove snapper.

Well spearfishing stud Cameron Kirkconnell not only has proof these huge snapper exist, but he has gone down to snapper honey holes like the one in this video (this is somewhere on the east coast of Florida) and plucked world records with his spear.

And if you don’t know 13-time World Record Spearfishing “Champion” Cameron Kirkconnell, you should get to know him.

The guy is one of the most talented spearfishing experts the world have ever seen, and he is just getting started on breaking records and changing the world of spearfishing.

Make sure to check out his super entertaining and hilarious interview we did with him here.

Holy Black Drum School!

Our friend Joey Antonelli is back again (he’s the guy who first made his appearance on Salt Strong when the triggerfish bit him in the privates on video).

This time with some of the coolest black drum footage we’ve ever seen.

Just wait until you see the size of this massive school of black drum from the drone!

Pretty cool that they were even able to jump in and get close enough to touch them.

This is certainly a once in a lifetime fishing trip as not many anglers get to see a day like this.

Great job capturing the full day gents.

Enjoy.

Poppers and Pumpkins…

Doesn’t get much better than this.

Check out the hungry school of redfish these guys came across in the Gulf of Mexico.

Jordan Whiteman and his buddies had a blast catching these as the redfish were fighting for a chance to grab their poppers.

Well done gents.

Enjoy.
