Somehow this man (his name is Mark Rutzen and his friends and shark buddies call him “The Sharkman” for obvious reasons) still has two hands. After learning the trade of “shark petting”, you think that he would have at least lost a finger or two during the learning process, but Mark is one lucky dude.

And don’t let this video fool you that this was Mark’s first time attempting this, as he has dedicated much of his adult life to understanding, loving, and helping conserve sharks around the world. He has his own show on the Discovery Channel, he was one of the first swim with Great White Sharks without a cage, and certainly one of the first to tame the wild beast with a touch of the nose.

Impressive stuff Sharkman!

Apparently the guys at Team Rebel Fishing were bored with the old-fashioned methods of catching big shark, so they took it up a few notches and decided to get a little bit closer to the sharks…

And by closer, I mean right out there next to them while standing on ladders. That’s right, the latest in shark fishing involves a ladder, bloody chum, and a few prayers that the shark doesn’t tangle himself and the line around your buddy’s ladder while you fight it.

That was what I kept thinking the entire time I watched this… when is that shark going to make a bee-line and knock down the ladder.

But it never happened and the Team Rebel Fishing dudes lived to publish their GoPro footage, and we are all grateful.

We’ve had some great videos come out of Australia recently.

And this one is pretty darn amazing!

Not only does this fearless dog swim towards the sharks, but he dives down underwater, and then the dog bites the shark on the tail!

Even the guy filming was ecstatic to capture his dog biting a shark on film!

I can’t blame him, although I might have been slightly more concerned when I saw my dog underwater for so long with a shark.

But the dog prevailed.

Enjoy.

Imagine coming home from work, heading out to your backyard to watch the sunset, and then seeing a 9-foot Bull Shark lurking right next to your seawall.

As someone that grew up on a lake in Florida where we frequently had alligators show up on or near our dock, I can tell you that even know we all know animals like alligators and sharks are more afraid of us than we are of them, that kind of goes out the window when you see a big boy on your property looking for a meal.

Especially if you have a dog, kid, grandkids, etc.

This footage was taken in Bonita Springs, FL, and according to the neighbors, this isn’t the first time they have seen big bull sharks at their dock as they claim someone is throwing bait in the water to attract the sharks…

The lesson here: Don’t feed sharks or alligators in your backyard…it usually doesn’t end well (just ask my mom that witnessed an alligator grabbing a cat in our backyard…)

We have seen some crazy things in nature before, but this one might take the nature cake!

This rare and crazy phenomenon of eating your embryo siblings is called embryonic cannibalism, and it really is where newborn animals eat their brothers and sisters while still in the embryo.

This sand tiger shark is one of the few animals to do this, and it truly is survival of the fittest (or earliest to grow your teeth) inside of the mother sand tiger shark’s womb.

And although the shark is only 4 weeks old and blind, it can sense its other siblings, and once he locates the siblings, they are quickly devoured with the shark’s newfound teeth.

What is even crazier is that the mother continues to produce embryos (about 2 per day) for her oldest little shark to eat before officially being “born.”

And you thought the ancient rule of the oldest prince of Wales automatically inheriting the role of king was too much in favor of the first born…

Crazy stuff!

Question: What happens if two sharks grow their teeth and start hunting at the exact same time (Twins)?

Can you imagine watching your dog chase a shark while you helplessly sat there and watched in terror…

More on that in a second.

First, did you see the photo of the wild Bobcat that catches a shark off the beach near Sebastian Inlet yet?

If not, here is the amazing pic below (and here is the CNN link about the bobcat):

Dog Chases Shark

Now back to this wild dog footage…

Our only guess is that the fearless lab in the video below must have heard about the bobcat getting all of the attention, so he tried his best to trump the bobcat by getting in the water and literally chasing a shark down…

If you are a dog lover, you take one gasp of relief now…

Wow!

Don’t forget to share this amazing dog chases shark video to your friends!

Bonefish are known as one of the tougher fish to catch on the flats.

And after watching this video, I believe that this “bonefish legend” holds true for both man and shark…

You see, this fish are incredibly gifted at camouflaging themselves to blend in with the sandy bottom, they spook incredibly easy, and they are quite fast.

So when this shark saw that a local bonefish was hooked, he decided it might be a quick meal…

However, the bonefish had other plans.

Even while hooked on this angler’s fly line, the bonefish was able to escape the larger, but slower to react shark.

Finally, once the shark sees the angler there, the shark becomes tired of being made to look like a fool on camera, and quickly leaves the scene…

Well done bonefish, and well done angler on helping out the bonefish.

And thanks for sharing Fish along

Can you imagine going out for a nice boat ride off of California (This was filmed off the coast of California, between Ventura and Anacapa Island) and coming across a 30ft whale carcass?

I think just seeing that alone justifies a pretty wild day on the boat.

But then imagine that while you are checking out the large whale carcass, a Great White Shark appears out of nowhere…

Talk about a wild experience!

Thankfully the crew from Ocean Defenders Alliance and Partial Pressure Productions had their GoPro with them to take this amazing footage.

After the Great White circled the whale a few times, it finally came in to get a few bites.

We call this “Fast Food” in nature…

It’s not everyday that you see a sharks smoking a topwater lure…

In fact, most anglers rarely get a glimpse of a shark aggressively going after their lure like they do in this video.

And that is what makes Josh Jorgensen’s (the guy behind BlacktipH) video so amazing…

Not only does he have up close footage of a blacktip shark attacking his topwater lures, he has numerous clips of different sharks coming up for a shot at his topwater plug.

At one point, it looked like two blacktip sharks were fighting over the lure.

Amazing footage Josh!

And according to the video description, this wild footage took almost two months to capture during the blacktip shark migration in Florida.

Glad you took the time to do this one. Definitely one of our favorites yet.
