My grandpa put the first pole in my hand when I was 3 and I’ve been hooked ever since. I began with freshwater fishing in the Fingerlakes of Upstate NY as a young child. When we moved to Daytona Beach I claimed the neighborhood pond as my own. I was there almost everyday catching bream, catfish, shiners and bass. But I also began exploring the Intercostal and saltwater fishing.
Eventually, with the help of a friend, I learned how to find and catch snook and reds. We took regular trips south to Sebastian Inlet for overnight snook fishing trips…we were never disappointed. But as time went on, my wife and I had 4 children and the responsibilities of life moved fishing to the back burner, for years.
But two and a half years ago we moved to Sarasota (Florida west coast). My 4 kids are older now (last one graduated high school this year) and for the last 2 years I have had the time of my life getting back into fishing. I’m still learning new things about the area, the fish, and how to fish the unique conditions of the west coast. And I’m having a blast doing it! And thanks to Salt Strong I’m having a whole new fishing experience!
