Supply Chain Lead

What You Will Do in This Role:

Are you passionate about building vibrant communities and enhancing member experiences? We are on the lookout for a dynamic and hands-on Supply Chain Lead to join our team, supporting the #1 inshore saltwater fishing club. In this exciting role, you will take end-to-end ownership of our tackle products, from supplier management to fulfilling customer orders, all while embracing a customer-first, customer-last philosophy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality products to our customers on time, as promised.

As the Supply Chain Lead, you will be responsible for inventory management, product procurement, and supplier management. This role requires a hands-on approach to inventory management and procurement activities, ensuring that stock levels are optimized and supply chain processes are efficient. The successful candidate will be adept at building strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing logistics to support our growing online sales. Key Responsibilities:

• Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of tackle products and negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
• Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability, minimizing both overstock and stockouts. Conduct inventory cycle counts, perform analysis on variance and issue appropriate inventory adjustments.
• Product Procurement: Perform purchasing tasks on all tackle products from our preferred suppliers ensuring timely delivery, quality inspection, and that tackle products are securely stored in stock.
• Logistics Coordination: Manage the transportation and warehousing of products, ensuring efficient and timely delivery to customers.
• Order Fulfillment: Oversee the order fulfillment process, ensuring accuracy and promptness in fulfilling customer orders.
• Partner Relationship Management: Own and manage the relationship with the third-party logistics provider(s), ensuring they meet performance standards and contractual obligations.
• Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve supply chain processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Quality Control: Ensure that all products meet quality standards before they are shipped to customers.
• Data Analysis: Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, forecast demand, and make informed decisions.
• Online Storefront: Buildout and maintain tackle products in our online eCommerce platform – Shopify.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks that could disrupt the supply chain.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as Marketing and Technology, to ensure a seamless supply chain operation.
• Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on supply chain performance to upper management.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in an ecommerce environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
• Experience with procurement processes and strategies.
• Proven track record of managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts.
• Experience with demand planning and forecasting.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving skills, and analytical skills with advanced spreadsheet capabilities.
• Knowledge of ecommerce platforms (Shopify preferred) and order fulfillment processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer experience orientation
• Commitment to continuous improvement
• Knowledge of the saltwater fishing industry is preferred

What Success Looks like: 

• In the first 90 days, success will be seen by quickly learning the inventory management system and taking ownership of forecasting and procurement tasks keeping inventory levels up to current rates or better (95%+ in stock rate for key products). This role will closely collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to align product availability with upcoming product offer timelines.
