Two days ago, a really short (17-second) Great White Shark video went viral that showed a Great White ramming his head into a cage in South Africa at a wild speed.

It was lightning fast, and I can only imagine the guys in the cage were freaking out!

That video had pretty good footage (you can see it here), but it wasn’t really complete as it all happened so fast…

So when I saw this footage from one of the other guys in the same cage that day, I had to share because it raises an important question about diving with sharks…

If you watch the slow-motion clip of the shark coming into the cage you can see that they lured the shark right next to the cage and then swiped the chum fish out of the way at the last second (like a bullfighter would a bull).

Is this just having fun with sharks or is this taking it too far?

For instance, it could be argued that behavior like this is what causes sharks to attack humans… take away the tuna and the only thing the sharks sees in front of him while in attack mode is a human…

As a Floridian, when I think amazing Tarpon footage I think about Boca Grande, the Florida Keys, and the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area…

But after watching this video of some sick tarpon acrobatic work, I now have to add Texas to the list.

Team Googan (aka “Poseidon” – god of the sea and protector of all saltwater life) is no stranger to being featured on Salt Strong.

In fact, I think this is his 5th or 6th video that has made it as one of our Salt Strong featured videos.

And in this video, Team Googan puts all of his best stuff in the Ultimate “Run That Dog” Compilation…

Some of the fishing footage is from the actual South Florida Mullet Run, while others parts of from Team Googan showing how he catches monster fish year round in South Florida.

He’s kind of like the Honey Badger… Team Googan don’t care… he’ll catch fish any time of year…

Make sure to watch until the end as this video keeps getting better and better.

WARNING: The following footage is not suitable for PETA members.

In all seriousness, our friends over at Stellwagen Media just released another amazing video simply titled, “Predation”.

And in this video below they capture some amazing footage of the predation and forage that occurs every year in our fisheries.

Heck, you might even learn something about why certain bait fish move out offshore as the water cools.

And if you are anything like me, the site of all of this bait and birds has me wanting to hit the water and wet a line today!

BlacktipH is no stranger to making it on Salt Strong.

With one of the most watched saltwater fishing YouTube channels of all-time (with over 100,000 subscribers), BlacktipH continues to put out amazing fishing content after amazing fishing content.

In this video below, BlacktipH (aka Josh Jorgensen) goes out cobia fishing with Dr. Robert Borrego, and they have a quite a day to remember…

If it wasn’t enough to catch a couple monster cobia, but they also get some face time with some big ol’ Bull Sharks!

Not to mention, even had a run in with some Goliath Grouper.

Dan Decibel is at it again! (the same Skinny Water Culture guy that created this award winning Tarpon video)

This time Dan has created some sick Redfish Topwater footage.

If you have ever been fishing for redfish (aka “redfishin”), you know that there is nothing cooler than seeing a redfish come up and slam your topwater lure on the surface.

And in this video, Dan captured the guys from FlatsHQ showing off what their FlatsHQ lures can do when it comes to redfish (and a few other inshore species as well).

I don’t know about you, but color me impressed!

Well done Dan and the FlatsHQ guys.

What what!

Talk about some sick SLO-MO bass footage!

I haven’t been bass fishing in quite some time, but this video made me want to head back to my hometown of Winter Haven, FL (where there are more lakes than buildings over 4 stories high), and set my hook into a largemouth bass…

In fact, I might just head over there after this post…

At any rate, the owner of the video claims this is an 11lb female bass that was attacking his worm (and GoPro subsequently), and you can see the pic of toward the end (out of the water after he catches it).

Here at Salt Strong, we are really big into family, so when we came across this amazing video by Dan Decibel (one of the “Must Know” anglers in The Complete List: 63 Must-Know Saltwater Anglers In Florida) that started off with a young boy talking about his family’s fishing habits, we knew we were going to like it…

Not to mention, I was curious what a “Sofa Fish” was… haha.

And then we saw the sick tarpon footage, and we couldn’t stop watching this video.

It was no surprise that Dan Decibel won first place in the 2015 POONFECTA (Baby Tarpon on fly Tournament) Film Festival for this amazing video called, “Micro Management”.

Great job Dan and everyone else that was involved in this video.

You guys nailed it.

You wouldn’t think that a 20lb baby Goliath Grouper would be that hard to land…

But pound for pound, these baby grouper have more energy, more strength, and can fit into more small crevices of structure (where they break you off) than almost any other fish in Florida.

Need some proof?

Then watch as our friend Josh Jorgensen (BlacktipH) takes out bass angler Justin Rackley (LakeForkGuy) to tackle these “Baby Giants”.

The quote of the video was by LakeForkGuy:

“I’m glad bass don’t fight this hard… they’d break everything I have”

No doubt about that Justin!

Also, while fishing for these elusive baby goliath grouper, BlacktipH even gets a solid “Snooky” surprise that sealed the deal on an awesome day of fishing.

And no, I’m not talking about an appearance from the “Snooki” on Jersey Shore…

I’m talking about something a little more “tasteful”.
