Did BlacktipH just beat his own top-ranked Mullet Run Footage from last year?

Either way, you’ve got to see this!

So earlier this year we posted some “Florida Mullet Run” footage from our friend Blacktiph that was the best we had ever seen… (you can view it here)

In fact, we went as far as challenging anyone to send us mullet run footage that could beat it.

And over the last 6 months that Mullet Run footage continued to be shared and viewed like crazy (to the tune of over 13,000 Facebook Like and Shares from Salt Strong viewers alone)…

During that time frame, no angler or videographer has been able to match the amazing footage from that video…

Until today…

Ironically, it was none other than BlacktipH himself that beat his own video footage!

Check out this unbelievable South Florida Mullet Run footage that he just uploaded to his BlacktipH YouTube channel.

Is this the best Florida Mullet Run footage of all time?

Let us know what you think in the comments.

Note: If you aren’t a Florida saltwater angler and have no idea what the Mullet Run is, it occurs when mullet start heading south on Florida’s east coast when water temperatures begin to drop. These migrating mullet are headed south to warmer water and where grasses and algae grow during the winter.

And once they reach the south point of Florida, the sexually mature fish head offshore and breed in the Gulf Stream where the fertilized eggs catch a move northbound with the current, and the mullet cycle starts all over again…

I can’t make this bad luck bananas on board stuff up folks…

Here is a video note from our friend Capt. Ben Chancey (of Chew On This):

“After eating a banana, angler gets pulled in by a Goliath Grouper”

Now if you never read the funny (yet informative) “Top 5 Myths About No Bananas On Board Your Fishing Boat” then I highly recommend you read that here so you know exactly why bananas are bad luck on boats.

In that blog post, you will learn about all of the bad things that can happen to you if and when you decide to bring a banana on board your boat…

One of which is falling overboard…

The only good news in this video is that they actually retrieved the rod and reel, but it can only be because the banana had been discarded…

Enjoy.

Finally, a ship launch that we can all applaud!

Usually when someone sends us a “Ship launch” or a “Boat Launch” it is a “Boating Fail“…

But not this one.

This first ever LNG (natural gas) propelled cement tanker is called “Greenland”, and it had a spectacular launch recently.

To put this massive cement tanker into perspective, check out how small the humans are next to the prop.

Holy Massive Ship!

Well done team.

Holy Cobia!

Can you imagine fighting a 141-pound cobia on a spinning reel!

Or catching a 141-pound cobia on any rod and reel for that matter…

Check out Elie Tackchi with Reel Deal Sports Fishing catching the biggest cobia ever landed on hook and line.

The beast of a cobia weighed a mind-blowing 141-pounds and took almost an hour to land off the Hallaniyat Islands, Oman.

Sadly, it won’t qualify as the IGFA World Record Cobia because it wasn’t weighed on an official scale, but that doesn’t change the fact that Elie Tackchi is the man!

Amazing job guys, and certainly a cobia that you will never forget.

Enjoy.

Cape Verde, Africa is known for it’s beautiful beaches, amazing shipwrecks, and big surfing waves…

It is also home to many fishermen.

And the #1 rule for anglers and boaters is to never take your boat past the surf break…

Apparently these two guys didn’t get the message.

Watch the two men in the boat make completely different decisions about the oncoming wave.

Glad to see both made it out alive.

Can’t say the same for the boat though.

Thanks to Nic Turner of Hawaii for sending this video in.

BBC, I’m not sure how you captured some of this footage… and I don’t care… this is AMAZING!

I had to watch this video a couple of times as the up close mahi feeding footage was epic.

Kind of feel sorry for the flying fish… that thing didn’t have a chance!

Who knew that it was to tough to be a flying fish! This whole time I thought they had it made being the only fish with wings…

DARE: I dare you to watch until the very end and not want to share this one!

Wait until you see the final scene.

What a grand finale!

Enjoy.

Fishing Addiction.

These Montauk, New York anglers have a serious fishing addiction, and they put together one of best surfcasting videos we have ever seen.

Even though not every angler goes surfcasting for striped bass, this story explaining a fishing addiction is something all of us anglers can relate to.

Whether you fish from land, beach, boat, kayak, paddleboard, or pier, we all share a common goal and addiction… to catch fish and to feel something big on the other end of the line…

It’s hard to explain the raw energy that line screaming out of your fishing reel creates to a non-angler, but it certainly is addicting.

Great to hear that these anglers are taking the steps to help preserve their fishing grounds for future generations of anglers.

And make sure to stick around until the very end to hear the best quote…

“We all have to die… You know, if you’re going to die, you might as well die like a man”

Happy Freshwater Friday!

This is what happens when anglers get creative…

In this video, “Kyle The Fish Whisperer” attaches a spool of Stren fishing line to his power drill and takes a shot at catching some fish.

Little did he know that bluegill automatically start peeing when caught by a power drill…

Anyone else tried this or have any crazy stories about catching fish on something other than a rod and reel?

Let us know in the comments.

Enjoy.

Did you ever see the VIRAL video where our friend Joey gets bit in the family jewels by a triggerfish on film? (watch “This is what happens when a triggerfish gets the ultimate revenge on a diver!)

Well, he’s back…

And this time with some sweet revenge of his own on some bull redfish.

Check out Joey and his three friends all fighting redfish at the same time…

It’s not a Double-Up…

And it’s not a Triple-Up…

It’s the infamous Quad-Up!

Enjoy.
