Shrimp boats were inshore because of weather (wimps), so the tuna spread out. We got some rigs on the way in and I had an awesome day catching snapper and cobia

Decided to try and get some fishing in before tropical storm moves in.I started the day out in the yak. Caught this little guy under popping cork with live mullet in a creek. I am guessing it's a cobia. If not, please let me know. Thanks

Was going out on the boat and decided to stop at the local jetty to see what the bay looked like. As I got there I saw a nice school of big reds. So, I got one 30ish red and a little bit bigger cobia. All on a gold spoon. With ten pound braid, the cobia took a lot of patience to get to the beach.

I caught this cobia today on a live grass grunt on the bottom. We had a chum block hanging off the back of the boat. Cobia love a good chum slick.

Too small couldn't invite him for dinner but it was a fun catch. In the grass flats fishing with a popping cork. He attacked the cork! several times and then he finally took the shrimp.

GoPro remote broke so I had to lean my phone against the rod holder on my kayak. Photo is not the best but wanted to get the bruiser back in the water ASAP. Sight casted in 2 ft of water. Took about 15 minutes to net on light tackle. Great couple of morning hours on the yak.
