The drag gave a quick scream, then it went silent, thought we caught the weeds. As I was reeling it in, this guy jumped out of the water, he proceed to fight, jump and run.

Ran the beach for a while out of Fort Pierce, not much action, so headed off shore and found a good match of weeds and found a bunch of these little guys, but they would not touch a mullet or cut bait. They were frisky so I pulled out my inshore rod and tossed a twitching bait at them and caught a few. Fun little guys. Did manage to get a keeper on a mullet later on but it was real slow. Conditions were great but the big ones haven't started pushing down yet.

Solo trip, what a day! Headed out of Port Saint Lucie inlet, caught bait and stopped at a weedline and rip at 240' and caught a few smaller mahi and then the big ones moved in and it was a one man fire drill. I'm fighting and gaffing one of the big ones shown in the pic and two of my other lines go off with two huge bulls. I get one close to the boat just out of gaff range and the second one decides to run under the boat and try to dance with the other. What a mess...after clearing that mess the first one which was hooked in the cheek, pulled loose and the other one jumped high into the air and threw its hook. Disappointed but grateful I got what I got and had a blast doing it. Biggest was 50".
