I have been chasing a Sailfish in Northwest Florida for the past few years and this morning it finally happen!
This beautiful fish hit a Pink Turbo Hammer with a live Cigar Minnow in 40ft of water!
We were running offshore of Stuart and I saw a free jumping Sailfish so we slowed near the spot he jumped and immediately put out a spread of Blue Runners. We slow trolled them in 200-250 feet of water and this one hit our outer outrigger long bait. We didn't measure or weight it but guys on the East Coast stated it is a nice sized Atlantic Sailfish.
The first Sail of the year caught last Sunday out of Boynton Beach Inlet in 200ft !! It was quiet a fight to reel the beauty in on 30# test mono! Google eye was the bait of choice. We caught one more this day and another one broke off because the leader wire we used wants strong enough.
A great day on the water together with my son Marvin.
