This could be Redfish Heaven!

A while back I posted a video called, “The Biggest School of Redfish Ever Captured on Film” (if you never saw it, make sure to watch it here).

And in that Redfish post, I asked any and all anglers to send me video footage of a bigger school of redfish (if it existed).

I heard from a few people that had seen larger schools of redfish, but unfortunately, they didn’t have any video footage of it.

And then I heard from Harry Heath Huelsbeck from Pensacola, FL.

He sent me this redfish video below that was nothing short of AWESOME.

Not to mention, Harry accomplished the following feats with this redfish video:

  • Certainly the biggest school of redfish captured on film
  • He catches a ton of redfish on a fly rod
  • He puts in some fist-pumping music for some extra icing on the cake

Well done Harry.

It is pretty clear why you are screaming up at the sky yelling, “Holy Redfish School!”

And if this doesn’t get you fired up about catching winter Redfish, I can only assume you hate puppies and icecream as well.

Is there such thing as an entire school of redfish without spots?

Makes you wonder after Capt. Jimmy Nelson (from Extreme Fishing Adventures) and Luiza Barros (from Fishing With Luiza) catch back-to-back redfish without spots in the exact same area.

Jimmy and Luiza were fishing in the Crystal River, FL area (doing some filming) when they caught these two spotless reds in a matter of a few minutes from each other.

Amazing!

Capt. Jimmy + Luiza = Redfish Strong!

Have you caught a redfish without spots?

Ever caught two in a row?

Ever been kayak fishing for bull redfish at night?

Check out what our friend Brandon Barton and a couple of clients got into the other night.

Talk about some nice redfish!

And these were all caught on artificial lures (white jerk baits – see below):

Although everyone loves seeing a tailing redfish on the flats, there is something magical about seeing a redfish explode on a topwater plug or fly.

So when I came across this amazing slo-mo redfish explosion from our friends over at Shallow Water Expeditions, I had to share it.

Of course, that was after I watched it about five times in a row…

My bet is you’ll probably do the same if you love redfish as much as I do.

Enjoy this New Orleans redfish action!

If you are an inshore fisherman, there is nothing like seeing tailing redfish.

Your heart beats faster, you realize you have to make a perfect cast to get your bait or lure right in front of the redfish’s face, and you know that you have to do it quickly (before the redfish changes course or gets spooked).

Well, Capt. Lawson Builder and his buddy Paul Puckett decided to go out and find some tailing redfish using their drone.

They got some amazing footage, but I still have one question…

Why didn’t anyone try to catch these tailing reds? I know Capt. Lawson is a pro at catching redfish.

Either way, at least now they know how to find them quickly in the future using a drone. Pretty cool.

Enjoy.

Dog gone Goliath Grouper…

Hard to believe these fish were “almost extinct” and had to be put on the protected species list years ago… they certainly are plentiful today.

What’s also interesting about this video is that I believe it is the first time I’ve seen a goliath grouper attack a redfish on film.

Usually, it’s everything from a snook, jack crevalle, bonito, and anything else that swims.

Perhaps it’s because so many of the redfish are caught on grass flats and not over wrecks, but either way, intriguing.

Check out what happens right next to the boat as these guys try to land their redfish.

Enjoy.

A while back I posted a redfish video that went a bit Viral, while at the same time causing some controversy.

Why?

Because the title was, “Biggest School of Redfish Ever Captured on Film? (you can watch it here).

And in that amazing redfish video, I asked viewers to show me a larger school of redfish that was captured on video.

Of course, I heard from countless anglers saying they had seen larger schools of redfish, but no one had any spectacular footage, and in the vast majority of cases, no footage at all.

Except for two people…

We already posted one of the videos last week that was submitted by a Salt Strong viewer called, “Wait til you see why this guy is screaming HOLY REDFISH!” (you can watch it here).

Below is the second submission that was pretty freaking amazing. It was all filmed off of Jacksonville, Florida.

And what I really love about this one is they took the drone up to get some aerial footage of the redfish.

Some absolute monster redfish in that school!

Amazing job Mike Pedigo and friends!

Enjoy.

Two Words…

REDFISH STRONG.

Our friend Brandon Barton is probably one of the best saltwater kayak anglers in the state of Florida.

And this video proves it.

Most anglers would have lost this redfish long before the 1:00-minute mark of this fight.

But not Brandon. The dude just wouldn’t give up on this fish…

From getting completely out of his kayak to having his line wrapped around debris under the dock, this is certainly a catch he will never forget.

Thank goodness he had his GoPros filming.

What an insane battle! Great job Brandon. You are certainly Redfish Strong!

Enjoy.

Not only did our friends Rob Chapman (from Outdoors 360) and Sam Root (from Salty Shores) capture some amazing drone footage of a massive school of redfish, but they also captured some sick aerial strikes!

Pa-POW!

Because the only thing cooler than seeing a school of bull reds is actually seeing someone catch one!

Watch as Capt. Jon Lulay, Rob Chapman, and Blair Ashton have an awesome time tossing spoons into this monster school of redfish while Sam Root films from above.

So cool to see how these fish react to a fast moving lure when they are cruising in a school.

The redfish that Rob caught in the video came in at 44-inches long and weighed 32 pounds. What a beast!

Enjoy.
