Happy Early Freshwater Friday!

This crazy event just happened, and it was too good to wait until Friday.

And you will see why this video certainly puts a new spin on the phrase, “Catfishing”.

Could you imagine being out on the river and seeing a small orange head slowly moving toward your boat?

Then all of a sudden you realize that it’s a Cat!

These bass fishermen from Alabama will certainly never forget these catfish…

I wonder if they submitted them as new Alabama state records for 4-Legged Catfish?

Either way, we’ll probably never know how they got out there, but a good thing these guys were there to make the save.

Talk about the Ultimate “When Fish Fight Back” video!

This really is crazy.

I have seen fish jumping out of the water hitting anglers, I have seen marlin impaling anglers after jumping in a boat when too green, I have seen Goliath Grouper “slap” anglers, and I have seen sharks bite anglers when taking the hook out…

But I am pretty certain this is the first broken nose I have ever seen a freshwater fish dole out.

Listen to the lady start laughing until she realized that he was seriously “KNOCKED OUT”!

Ouch!

Who said fisherman can’t adapt and catch fish for their family just about anywhere… with anything!

I’m still not exactly sure what city this video takes place in (somewhere in South America), but either way, kudos for these fisherman that gave an old tarp a shot in a small river.

As you will see in the video, these men drag a big tarp through a shallow river in hopes that the fish (presumably some type of carp) will jump up on the tarp.

The video’s notes (from Roberto Lenz) describe the entire video with just one short sentence…

“Net Fishing Is For Bobos”

Not exactly sure which definition of Bobo that Roberto is referencing (here is a link to the hilarious “Urban Dictionary” interpretation of “Bobos”), but regardless, we get the hint.

My question is, how many men does it take to pull the tarp out of the river once loaded down with water and fish? That has to be incredibly heavy!

Perhaps that will be part II…

Enjoy this “Freshwater Friday” video below!

NOTE: These men were not breaking any rules, and the city did not really ask them to stop using nets. This was all in good fun for Freshwater Friday. So get over it PETA.

Happy Freshwater Friday!

While I was looking around for an awesome freshwater video last night, I saw this recently posted video of a Norwegian guy holding a spinning reel upside down…

Needless to say, I was curious… so I clicked on the video, and to my complete shock, it only got WORSE.

Apparently this is a pretty famous journalist and backpacker (he goes on extreme exploration trips) named Lars Monsen from Norway.

And you would like to believe he was doing this a spoof, but I found no mention of it being a spoof when I had all of the comments translated. But then again, I don’t know jack about Norwegians.

Spoof or not, this is a good lesson on how NOT to use a spinning reel.

Enjoy and Fish On this weekend!

It’s that time again…

FRESHWATER FRIDAY!

And today’s video is the best largemouth bass explosive bite we have ever posted on a Friday.

Certainly not as funny as the freshwater Friday video post called, “Wait Until You See This College Kid Go Hair Fishing!” (you can watch that one here), but nothing beats an explosive bite on topwater in our opinion!

Why 9.3 Reasons?

Well, the angler in the video claims to have weighed the bass in at the 9lb, 3 oz mark. I wish he would have shown the actual scale, but for now we have to take him at his word.

Either way, beast of a bass, and amazing footage.

Make sure to stick around til the very end as he shows the SLO-MO action of the bass jumping completely out of the water. It is sick!

Who else is itching to go bass fishing after this video!

Happy Freshwater Friday!

Ever since we posted “Largemouth Bass Eats Alligator Captured On Film” (watch it here), we have had numerous requests to keep the Freshwater Friday trend going.

So this week we found a really amazing RC boat video that goes after largemouth bass.

I won’t ruin the ending, but let’s just say this boat would have been capsized if it was a 10lb bass.

Enjoy!

Happy Freshwater Fishing Friday!

I am willing to bet that you watch this hilarious carp video below at least two times (if not 5 times like me)…

And I’m still not really sure which part is funnier, the carp going crazy or the guy laughing at the end (which is why I say you need your speakers on).

Enjoy this carp fishing fail and the epic laugh of the guy recording the video.

If you know who this guy is, let me know as I want to hire him to laugh during our funny fishing videos as he certainly has a contagious laugh!

It’s a Fact: Men with beards can do things that non-bearded men can’t do.

Small feats such as catching fish faster, drinking beer faster, and even swimming faster all happen when boys become men and grow facial hair known as beards.

And as you will see in the video below, beards also enable men to do things like catching trout with your bare hands.

Regardless if this was staged or not, Doug the bearded angler is the Man!

Watch out Kevin VanDam, there is a new “Fish Whisperer” in town…

And there is a new “Freshwater Friday” video for your enjoyment!

This is the same guy that caught an estimated 12-pound bass by hand that was shared all over Facebook, but the majority of people didn’t believe him because it was filmed on a really bad camera angle, and you never see him dangling the minnow first. All you really got to see was him yanking a monster bass out of the water with his hand.

So he did another video where the camera angle was over his shoulder so you could see the entire catching bass by hand routine from start to finish.

Pretty awesome stuff! Still a bit crazy to think this guy can catch 10lb+ bass by hand when most Americans never break through the 10lb+ on a rod and reel.

You might also notice the sign behind the “hand-angler” that says catch and release only by hand, so this clearly ain’t this guys first bass rodeo.

Amazing job!
