Patrick Rhea of LivitFilms and his drone flying stud partner Nick Shirghio have done it again!

They have somehow produced back to back saltwater inshore fishing video masterpieces that certainly land each of the videos up in the rankings of top inshore fishing videos of all time.

After coming off a Grand Slam hit video called, “Fishing in our Soul” with Jill’s Cashbox featuring Salt Strong (in our humble opinion the best saltwater inshore video of all time), Patrick and Nick Shirghio hit another home run with Eleven Angling: Bluemoon Expeditions out of Islamorada, Florida with their fly fishing video at the bottom of this page.

Just wait until you see the tarpon footage! Amazing.

If you have even been fishing while cameras are rolling, you know that it rarely turns out like this with Tarpon hitting your fly just feet away from the camera and boat. Amazing job!

Enjoy!

Sorry gents, but after you watch this video, you are forever going to be wondering how you can replace your fishing partner with a great looking girl that can probably also cast better than your current partner…

Heck, I know that I will never be able to look at my brother Luke on the boat without wondering how I can trade him in (haha).

But in all seriousness, this video below is a top-notch fly fishing video produced by Catch 1 Films that features female fly angler Rebecca Courtney catching a couple of small inshore fish in a short fly session.

Regardless of the size of the fish, amazing video. Well done Catch 1 Films and Rebecca Courtney!

And is it just me, or does she kind of look like Katie Holmes? I would have actually watched Dawson’s Creek if it had been more like this video. Perhaps it would have been called “Dawson’s Skinny Water Lagoon”

Fish On.

Probably the best Bull Redfish on topwater footage we have ever seen here at Salt Strong so far (and we have seen a ton of redfish footage).

And just a warning, you might find yourself moving your head up and down dancing to this song and video from the get go…

In this amazing redfish footage, these big reds are exploding on topwater flies in shallow water. The up close and personal footage of these fish is truly art, so big props to both the anglers and the videographers.

The majority of the video is just the strike, and then they show all the fish caught at the end so stay tuned for the full video.

This video describes with no words why so many love to sight fish… these guys are my new heroes.

FACT: Catching monster snook on a fly rod isn’t easy…

And many times catching the biggest snook on any type of fishing reel requires incredible patience, testing, and travel.

Yep, travel.

And in this video, Todd Moen has to go through a lot to get to his snook honey hole:

  • Trekking through mud for who knows how long
  • Wading up to his chest in unfamiliar waters (with unfamiliar animals in the water like water snakes)
  • Dealing with Mosquitos the size of small birds
  • And when he finally does get in a boat, he realizes he will be on a small canoe for the entire day with little comfort, and certainly no amenities

Regardless of all Todd went through, we thank him for doing it (and for bringing along a camera with him).

Because this is probably one of the very best big Snook on fly videos we have seen yet. You will feel like you are in the canoe with Todd Moen when he puts the smack down on some big Snook with his fly rod.

And this video will have you contemplating trading all your spinning gear in for a buggy whip and a plane ticket to Mexico.

So the question remains, would you go through all of this to catch a big snook on the fly?

I know I sure would.

We’ve had some pretty amazing GT (Giant Trevally) videos on the home page so far this year.

If you missed them, here are the top 3 GT Viral Fishing Videos (you can always come back and watch these after you view the showcase video below)

  • “Barracuda Comes Out of Nowhere and Explodes on GT” (watch it here)
  • “Unbelievable GT Attack on Bait Pod” (watch it here)
  • “Giant Trevally Steals GoPro and Leaves Wicked Bite Marks!” (watch it here)

And we are pleased to add this new video, “Shark Attacks GT” right on the flats in front of angler, to the list. After watching it a few times to triple check that it was indeed a girl screaming (and not a guy screaming like a girl), I can’t stop laughing every time I hear her scream as the shark approaches her feet.

Hope you enjoy this new GT video.

P.S. – If you liked this video and think you friends would enjoy, please share. Pa-POW!

This came across my desk this week, and I thought it was the perfect post for Father’s Day weekend (especially for guys like me with daughters).

In this video, the Montana Fly Fishing Guide Company put together a pretty funny parody on “Improper Female Fishing Etiquette”.

I won’t ruin it for you, but let’s just a LOT has changed over the past 40 years in terms of women and fishing.

And to be frank, I couldn’t be happier with the changes. With two young daughters myself, I want them to have as much fun (and as many opportunities) as I did growing up fishing as a boy.

Hope you enjoy, and if you think your friends would like this video, please share it with them – I’d really appreciate it

If you like fly fishing for inshore fish (like redfish), then you are going to love this video.

And this video certainly gives new meaning to “fishing the grass flats…”

These guys (Mosquito Lagoon fly fishing guides Capt. Billy Rotne of Tailhunter Charters and Capt. Willy Le of Native Fly Charters) head out during a flood tide in the backcountry of St. Augustine, Florida for some amazing fly fishing footage on the fly.

Not sure about you, but this video has me wanting to hit the water right now in search of some redfish.

Well done gents.

And if you think your friends would find this video amazing, please share it with them – I’d really appreciate it. Fish On!

Sometimes nature can be incredibly beautiful, peaceful, and serene…

And sometimes it can be downright cruel…

Unfortunately for most fish (including this baby tarpon), much of life is a daily grind of avoiding being eaten by something bigger than you. It truly is the ultimate “dog eat dog” world.

In this video, an angler hooks a baby tarpon while fly fishing, and out of nowhere comes a shark that chases down the baby tarpon in and around the mangroves, until finally getting what he came for…

Dog gone Sharks! Always coming in to get their piece of the action.

Note: You can tell from the video that the angler was upset, and it is pretty clear that he didn’t “bait” the shark. So PETA disciples, please keep any of your negative comments to yourself.

Everyone else, enjoy the video.

Good, you made it…

And I can assure you that you will not be disappointed with this one-of-a-kind fly fishing video.

I’m also glad that I didn’t have to give any more reasons for you to watch it, as 10,000 already seemed a bit too extravagant… So why 10,000?

Well, as you will see in the video, this spectacular footage was all filmed down in the Ten Thousand Islands area of Florida. An area that is uninhabited for the most part, and it a huge labyrinth of water, small islands, and mangroves.

It was home to many native American Indians, and today is one of the best places in Florida to go skinny water fishing. You just have to make sure you don’t get lost or run out of gas or supplies…

Great job goes to Patrick Rhea and Nick Shirghio of Livit Films for this video. It is clear you guys put some serious hours in both the trip, and the editing.

It turned out perfect.
