Growing up spending some quite a bit of time surfing and boogie-boarding at my aunt and uncles house in Melbourne Beach, FL had me on the edge of my seat watching this great white shark video.

I mean, can you imagine enjoying a nice day of scuba diving and spearfishing in one of your favorite spots in your hometown, when all of a sudden you see it… the terrifying shadow of a huge Great White Shark that passes right over your shoulder.

Before you can ask yourself, “What is the world is this Great White doing here”, you need to figure out an escape route, because the tables have turned and YOU have now become the hunted. But this huge shark isn’t making it easy on you to get out of the area, as he continues to make circles around you, sizing you up, and trying to decide if you are a good meal or not…

If you have ever been scuba diving or freediving, then you know that this is one of the most terrifying great white shark encounters you’ll ever see (hopefully you won’t personally see one that is worse…)

This great white shark encounter was all caught on a GoPro by Jimmy Roseman of West Melbourne, FL, and the footage was intense to say the least.

I can’t believe how many times the great white made a turn at him.

And I bet Jimmy was glad he had a spear gun that day.

Wowzers!

Can you imagine being out 70 miles from the shore of Sarasota, Florida and coming across a MONSTER school of tarpon under your boat? How cool is that!

Thankfully Dominic Burch and his buddies jumped in with their GoPros to let us all feel what it would be like to swim with tarpon.

Pretty amazing tarpon footage, and what an experience.

Note: This was approximately 70 miles out in 200 feet of water (off coast of Sarasota, FL).

When we saw the big Nassau Grouper that sucked down the lionfish like an oyster on video last month, we thought we had seen it all (If you haven’t seen that video, watch it here).

However, this grouper took the lionfish eating game to an entire new level, as it surprises the heck out of a diver, and even gets acts like a dog looking to get a bone after it is all over…

This grouper is so adamant on getting a lionfish for a meal that he is willing to sneak up on a scuba diver, rip a baggie containing a lionfish, and then try to eat the lionfish with the protective baggy still intact…

And never before have we seen a grouper hang around and get petted like a dog after the event! Watch as this grouper acts just like a dog that is hoping to get his bone back by hanging around and doing anything for a bone (including letting the diver pet him)… this video just kept getting better and better.

Great job on the GoPro camera to capture all of this!

If you followed us back in January, you probably recall the video on our site that went viral called, “Roberta Mancino Rides With The Fastest Fish in The World” (watch it here).

Well she’s back!

And this time the Italian dare-devil Roberta is riding sharks with pro surfer Mark Healy.

They go through an old underwater wreck, get some amazing footage, and then finally ride one of the sharks.

Amazing video using a GoPro, and we thank you Roberta for being so “STRONG”…we look

Have you ever wondered what Goliath Grouper do all day?

Well the fine folks at The Living Sea went down with cameras to find out…

And the underwater footage they captured on these fascinating Goliath Groupers was really amazing.

As you can see, most of their day is spent relaxing at the bottom, probably just wondering what their next meal will be…probably no different than my old college roommate…

Occasionally (like around the 1:23 mark), you can see the Goliath Grouper take a shot at the bait ball around them.

Great footage Living Sea!

Thanks for sharing.

If you thought the dolphin from “Flipper” the TV show was smart for a dolphin (although technically Flipper was an actor), wait until you see this real life dolphin that comes directly to a diver to ask him for help…

This dolphin had been hooked, and the fishing line that he most likely spooled from some unsuspecting angler’s reel had been caught in his dorsal fin.

What is so amazing about this scene is the amount of trust this wild dolphin has for the human diver. Even as the diver takes out a pair of scissors (that appear to be just a foot from the dolphin’s face), the dolphin was smart enough to know he was getting help.

Amazing video and amazing dolphin save!

We have seen some creative underwater GoPro footage of sharks before, but this one takes the blue ribbon…

Not only did professional photographer/videographer Eric Cheng build an amazing GoPro mounting system to get raw footage of sharks eating, he managed to get some of the best shark footage we have seen yet.

And at one point in the video, one of the Reef Sharks steals the GoPro (while still filming) and takes some great footage while in his mouth.

Well done Eric!

This is epic footage, and well worth the risk of the GoPro to get this kind of footage from a shark’s mouth.

Note: This was all filmed down in the Bahamas and these are Lemon Sharks and Reef Sharks

Remember the movie, “Dances with Wolves?”

Well Kevin Costner has nothing on this girl that calls herself “Tigress”, and dances with Tiger Sharks in Australia like it was going out of style…

When we were first showed this video thumbnail, I thought it was going to be some kind of joke or a fake video…

But I was blown away when I found out that it was all real.

This Tigress girl puts on a dancing show with these Tiger Sharks even while wearing boots and getting all painted up with waterproof makeup.

And some of these Tiger Sharks are up to 15 feet long…and they aren’t tame by any means.

If someone can send me a wilder video than this today, then I will send them a Salt Strong hat.

So apparently Goliath Groupers threw themselves a Goliath Grouper Convention at the Castor Wreck near Boynton Beach, Florida and didn’t invite us…

But either way, it is really cool to see the amazing underwater footage (from Sean Crothers) of this huge school of Goliath Groupers.

And clearly, we weren’t the only ones not invited as Loggerhead Turtle, a Lemon Shark, and some bait balls all came by to see what the Goliath Grouper convention is all about.

Finally, although it is tough to tell from this video, these 100+ Goliath Groupers are all 4-6 feet long!
