I have a weird question. I go out often in my kayak inshore fishing. I don’t always catch fish but when I do it’s usually 22”-28” red fish. I’m not complaining, those are super fun but I want to catch more fish. I usually am using a popping cork with live bait. Any suggestions on how I can catch more fish??
In Louisiana the size red fish I caught is legal .does salt strong only do catch and release? I do not want to be part where I can not eat fish , that are legal by size and quantity . By the way I do not fish from kayak.
Just like you, we enjoy keeping fish on occasion when they are in season and are legal size. So please know that you will not get shamed by keeping fish.
Note: For any pics that are posted online showing off a good catch, we just encourage everyone to display good hold practices so that people newer to fishing can see good examples of how they should be holding fish that they’ll be releasing.
I’ve been part of the club for as long as I can remember and I’ve never been made to feel as if only the catch and release peeps are cool 😎, lol. I know many of my fellow Salt Strong angels who catch and eat. We even trade recipes when someone posts a great meal 🥗🥣🍛🌮.

Try some different spots that have shallow structure and/or using some smaller baits.

On occasion… I never go fishing unless I can harvest something… I’m from the old school
