We came across this amazing video of Meredith McCord catching two fish on two different fly rods with the Casting Tails team, and we couldn’t wait to post it.

At one point, she even has one of the fly rods (with a fish on) in between her legs while she hooks the second one.

And all while looking incredibly sporty in her tennis/fishing skirt.

Well done Meredith!

Awesome fly fishing video!

Note: This was all filmed in the Upper Texas Coast

Everything is bigger in Texas…

Including their schools of redfish…

So when we saw this amazing Texas redfish video from Casting Tales, we had to post it.

But not just for you, for us as well…

Because we are dying to catch some redfish on a fly like this in Texas, and we can’t wait to knock this off of our bucket list in the near future.

Wait til’ you see how many times they are doubling up (and tripling up) on these schooling reds. What a blast!

Even if you aren’t a big fly angler, this redfish video ought to get you pumped up!

Nothing like seeing (and hearing) redfish schooling and eating like this.

Enjoy!

As if spearfishing monster Wahoo isn’t cool enough, try doing it with swarms of sharks around you!

And before you start watching the first 45 seconds wondering where the sharks are, just wait…

At one point, it looked like every shark in the area showed up to see if they could get a free meal.

spearfishing wahoo
Here is one of the images from the video where the guy holding a bleeding wahoo is surrounded by sharks.

Now if you have ever caught a wahoo on a line and reel, you know what kind of fight you are in for.

Well just imagine going spearfishing for wahoo… And not just any wahoo, we are talking some big boys here in this video (according to the video author, these were in the 80-95 pound range).

Not only that, after the first kill shot, tons of sharks start swarming, making it even tougher on the spear fishermen.

Great video gents!

Color me impressed.

Are you wondering where this awesome wahoo action was all filmed?

It was in the Gulf of Mexico off of Texas. If you want to check out more on these divers and how to fish with them, check them out here.

As a Floridian, when I think amazing Tarpon footage I think about Boca Grande, the Florida Keys, and the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area…

But after watching this video of some sick tarpon acrobatic work, I now have to add Texas to the list.

Some amazing footage from Project Tarpon on this “Texas Two-Step” footage.

Although I highly encourage you to watch the entire video, here are a few marks in the video that you have to see:

I lived in Texas for almost 5 years, and no offense to the lovely state, but I don’t think of “Tarpon” when I imagine Texas Fishing…

But after watching this “Texas Tarpon” video, I must give them some credit.

In fact, these Texas Tarpon can downright dance! And they have some decent size to them as well.

Either way, I’ll hedge my bets on catching tarpon here in Florida, but I know where to go if things slow down here…

So what do you think?

Pretty impressive tarpon footage for Texas huh…

Note: This footage was all taken this August on the Texas coast on board the 26 Shamrock “Threadfin”.

If you have ever caught a stone crab before, you know to stay away from their vice-like grip like the plague.

The stone crab’s claws can get huge, and once they grab one to something, it can be a battle to get them to release their grip.

And although stone crabs are known to be slower movers compared to some other crabs (probably because they have to carry around claws that weigh more than the rest of their bodies), if a stone crab gets a hold of your finger, you won’t forget the experience.

In fact, a stone crab has enough power to easily break your finger if it gets ahold of it at the right angle.

So when we saw this video of a Texas guy putting his bare hands down in the mud to yank out stone crabs, we thought the guy had no fear (and still do by the way).

And if you are wondering why he only took one claw, it is actually state law that you leave one claw on a stone crab so it can defend itself, kill fish for food, etc as it is not the type of crab that is harvested for its full body.
