If you haven’t seen a Goliath Grouper eat before, then you are missing out on watching one of the most aggressive eaters in the entire ocean.

In most all cases, these Goliath Grouper are even more aggressive eaters than sharks when they attack prey.

And this video by BlacktipH is pretty clear evidence of just how quick and aggressive these large Goliath Groupers are when it comes to getting a meal.

Watch out for your hands when Goliath Grouper are feeding, because clearly they will eat just about anything!

Hungry Goliath Grouper = Salt Strong

While deep sea fishing in New Zealand with Captain Bucko, this couple had the fishing surprise of their life!

As they reeled in what they thought was going to be a great catch, they realized that a shark had beaten them to the punch…

But that wasn’t the end of it.

All of a sudden…

POW!

The shark comes back for more right next to the boat, scaring the heck out of the anglers and guide.

In fact, you can hear the cameraman say that he almost soiled his pants.

Nature at its wildest here!

New Zealand Great White Shark = Salt Strong

This is pretty amazing footage of a huge marlin launching a dolphin (mahi/dorado) into the air while looking for his next meal…

And the first thing I thought of as I watched this for the second time was “That marlin is launching that dolphin around like an 8th cheerleader”.

According to the video author Mark Garry, this was around a 500-600 pound blue marlin and a 25 pound dorado, and this scene all occurred right it front of them, which was something not many people have ever witnessed before.

Needless to say, it probably didn’t end well for the dorado…

Also, this was all captured down in Los Seunos, Costa Rica.

Hope you enjoy.

Dolphin-Tossing Marlin = Salt Strong

Captain Ben Chancey of Chew On This is back on the site with another great video.

This time is showing this couple how to catch Goliath Grouper by hand, and as the guy is pulling the bonita back to the boat, a big Goliath Grouper comes out from under the boat and “explodes” right next to the boat.

Great footage Ben, and keep up the great work!

Chew On This = Salt Strong

P.S. – For any of your engineers out there, we realize that this fish doesn’t literally “Explode”…it is a fishing term that can be used in association with examples like these: “explosive bite” or “exploding next to the boat”

This is one of the most aggressive shark attacks on HD I have seen this year (and people send us a lot of them).

In this video, a young guy is fighting a nice spanish mackerel in North Queensland (Weipa, Australia)…a great fishing area that also happens to have a ton of sharks.

After getting the mackerel next to the boat, his mate gets a bad shot with the gaff, and the mackerel is off for one last run…

And then the offshore tax-man comes to get his share…

Enter Aggressive Shark Attack…

And I think the lesson from this shark attack video is “Don’t screw up the gaff”.

Australian Sharks = Salt Strong

You have probably heard how fast Mako Sharks are, right?

But I bet you haven’t seen one coming out of the blue ocean at you like this!

Check out the slo-mo jaws at the 1:38 mark!

What’s funny is this Mako just won’t give up until all of the baits are gone.

He makes pass after pass to “steal” and pluck off every live bait on the dredge.

Of course the anglers on board have no idea this is going on under them, and I bet when they pulled up the dredge to see that all of the baits were gone, they were giddy about checking out what the GoPro captured.

Well here it is in this video.

Mako Shark = Salt Strong

Goliath Grouper are huge, they are intimidating, and they have proven to be one of the most aggressive eating fish in the sea (in many cases even more so than sharks). In fact, here is a quick video from BlacktipH showing just how aggressive these grouper can be (click here to watch).

In this Goliath Grouper video, a big Goliath Grouper attacks spear-fisherman ripping off his fin, fish, spear, and gun.

His friend filming is enjoying a good laugh until his buddy gets manhandled by the class bully. Glad no one was hurt, but still glad we were all able to enjoy this on film…

Holy Snook Attack!

I used to think snook were pretty doggone fast…

Anytime that I would be out on the boat with my brother Luke and we would spook a snook, I was always impressed with how quickly they can dart off.

But then I saw this video…

And it is clear the snook is not match for the lightning-fast dolphin.

Pretty cool footage of how dolphins feed on the same fish that we like to catch as well.

If only that dolphin knew how good a snook tasted on the grill…

P.S. – If you think that your angler friends or fishing networks would like to see this, please Tag them or Share this with them. You Rock! Pa-POW!

If you were diving down on a reef and came across a Goliath Grouper  for the very first time, your first thought would most likely be that it looked big, slow, and lazy…

But then you see a video like this where you can see just how much stealth they have when they are ready to eat…

Not to mention, it wasn’t like it just took a bite out of some small ladyfish, this was a 4ft shark we are talking about!

If you can ignore the shaky camera in the first 20 seconds, this video turns out pretty cool.
