Just when you thought you had seen it when it comes to Grouper videos, this video of a Grouper hitting a diver right where it counts…

And it’s around the 41-second mark… you’ll know when you see it, as you can see him quickly go into the “I’ve been hit” position…

You can even hear his dive partner laughing after it happens. I guess I can’t blame him, because if this happened to Luke (the other Salt Strong founder) while I was diving, I imagine I would be laughing pretty hard as well.

This Grouper bashing occurred down in Cozumel, and Steve “Buddha” Lee is the unlucky diver that got a surprise when he went to open his feeding bag.

In most cases, we can feel protected from danger when fishing in a boat. However, situations sometimes arise when that can quickly change.

Here’s a wild snippet of footage showing a barracuda jumping into a boat directly towards the angler. This was shot while “The Outdoors Show” was filming a segment of their show.

Props to the camera guy for capturing it all while also keeping the fish at bay with his foot… that deserves a SSHF (Salt Strong High Five)!

Robbie’s of Islamorada (Florida Keys) is THE place to hand-feed tarpon.

And if you never saw the “Slo-mo” tarpon feeding segment from the video “Why Hammerheads Don’t Like Their Picture Taken“, then I highly recommend you check out that video here next. (It was also filmed at Robbie’s of Islamorada).

In this video below, a girl (with wicked chiseled triceps) takes a shot at feeding the tarpon off the dock at Robbie’s… claiming yet another win for Team Tarpon.

BONUS Footage: Make sure to watch this entire video as they added in some “Fish-eye” bonus footage that is pretty cool.

P.S. – If you think your friends would find this video cool, please share it with them – I’d really appreciate it. Pa-PoW!

If you learn anything from this “Giant Trevally Steals GoPro” video, it should be one of the following:

  1. Don’t ever put your new GoPro in front of a hungry GT (Giant Trevally)
  2. And don’t ever get your hand near a Giant Trevally’s mouth!

In what appears to be split seconds, one of the handful of Giant Trevally hanging below this boat steals the GoPro by ripping it from this diver’s hands, and taking it under before releasing it.

Fortunately for the diver, the GoPro was still intact, still recording, and only suffered some wicked bite marks that will surely act as a reminder to the power of the GT’s jaws.

Note: This was filmed down on Alphonse Island (part of Seychelles) with 7 Degrees South

One of our most VIRAL fishing videos this year was called “Diver Gets Run Over By Tuna In Unbelievable Feeding Frenzy” (you can watch it here).

In that video, we were able to witness the most insane tuna feeding frenzy that we have ever seen… and it came out of Panama, one of the best places in the world to fish.

Well, today we found a tuna feeding frenzy that was just as wild as the that one (although they didn’t have a guy like Mr. Slater to jump in the water with a camera like the other video had).

But they did manage to get right in the middle of the tuna frenzy, so close in fact that the first mate is scooping up the same bait (goggle eyes and blue runners) that the tuna are crushing.

Amazing footage from Captain Shane Jarvis of Panama.

Note from Capt. Shane: These are 50-100 pound yellowfin Tuna

GOOSEBUMPS!

Yep this jungle tarpon fishing video gave me Goosebumps.

After watching “The Best Tarpon Video To Ever Come Out Of Boca Grande” that went SUPER-VIRAL (watch it here), I didn’t think we would come across a Tarpon video that would compete with it any time soon.

But this “Early Morning Jungle Tarpon Fishing” video is right up there with the all-time best Tarpon videos of all time. The slow-mo shots of the tarpon jumping are sick, and when you see the first tarpon jump while going after the bait fish, you will know why this gave me goosebumps.

This amazing Tarpon video was filmed by GetAway Tours with the help of the Tapam Jungle Poon Adventure guides in Nicaragua.

If this doesn’t get you excited about Tarpon fishing, then God have mercy on your soul…

P.S. – The first part of this video start off slow, but you have my word that if you watch this entire video, you will be rewarded. Enjoy!

If you have ever been fishing for redfish on the flats or even out in the bay, then you know they aren’t always the easiest fish to catch.

Redfish can be finicky eaters at times, they can spook easily, and it takes a sometimes flawless presentation when sight casting for a redfish…

That is MOST of the time…

In this video, you get a glimpse of what I call “REDFISH MECCA“.

Redfish stacked up as far as you can see, probably hitting anything you throw out them.

So if you can’t catch a redfish here, something really is wrong… and it might be time to turn in your fishing license…

Note: this video was filmed with Captain Jamie Glasner of Fin and Fly Charters out of Cocoa Beach, FL

Please share this with someone you know that loves redfish. You Rock!

This video sucked me right in…

Growing up in Florida I have some very fond memories of catching bluefish with my dad and brother near one of the rock jetties in Port Orange, Florida (South Daytona Beach). Those tough fighting fish would eat just about anything, and I loved catching them.

Of course, the one thing I didn’t have back then was amazing HD cameras the size of magic markers that can go on my rod, leader, and head.

But this guy did!

And this angler (from Surfcaster’s Journal) nailed this video in terms of editing, filming, and of course catching the bluefish.

It kind of reminded me of watching the movie “Snatch” with Brad Pitt where the film keeps flipping back and forth from everyone’s different angle.

One second we see it from his view, then the rod’s view, then the bluefish.

Pa-POW!

My favorite scene was the line shooting out during the cast at the 1:30 mark.

What part did you like the best? Leave me a comment.

Enjoy!

I love catching Snook!

Ever since I went Snook fishing for my very first time in Marco Island, FL (way back in the day), I have been hooked on Snook.

So I always find it very interesting to see exactly how the eat (aka attack), as it can help me understand how to best present my lure, fly, or live bait to a Snook.

This video, although not the clearest water in the state of Florida, still does a great job of showing you exactly how Snook attack (and how quickly they can move on a fly).

Enjoy!
