BlacktipH is no stranger to making it on Salt Strong.

With one of the most watched saltwater fishing YouTube channels of all-time (with over 100,000 subscribers), BlacktipH continues to put out amazing fishing content after amazing fishing content.

In this video below, BlacktipH (aka Josh Jorgensen) goes out cobia fishing with Dr. Robert Borrego, and they have a quite a day to remember…

If it wasn’t enough to catch a couple monster cobia, but they also get some face time with some big ol’ Bull Sharks!

Not to mention, even had a run in with some Goliath Grouper.

Check this out!

I don’t know about you, but I don’t know many men that would go out 20km offshore fishing in a jet ski, let alone any women.

But this amazing female angler (Kylie from New Zealand) known as “ReelChixFish” on YouTube, says she loves going offshore fishing in her jet ski (aka WaveRunner) any chance she gets.

And she has landed everything from tuna, grouper, and even big mako sharks from her jet ski!

Amazing job, and stay tuned for more fishing episodes from Kylie.

Note: This girl can catch some fish!

Needless to say, Kylie from Reel Chix Fish = Salt Strong.

I’ve been holding on to this video for quite some time, just waiting for the right moment to post it…

If you recall back on June 23rd I posted a video with the title, “The Biggest School of Redfish Ever Caught on Film?” (watch it here if you never saw it).

And at the end of the video, I asked the amazing Salt Strong audience to send me any redfish footage that can beat it.

I received a couple that either beat it or were really close (sorry, but I didn’t have time to literally count all of the redfish), and I posted them shortly after the “Biggest School of Redfish” video.

Here they are:

  1. “Wait til’ You See Why This Guy Is Screaming Holy Redfish!” (watch it here)
  2. “How Would You Like To Run Into This School Of Redfish?” (watch it here)

And then I received this video below…

It didn’t beat the redfish count (although it was certainly close), but it stuck out because of the bad to bone music that got me all fired up. In fact, I would be willing to be that it will have you humming one of the two tunes for the rest of the day.

And they even catch a nice cobia (from what looked like off of a whale), along with a crazy school of redfish.

I honestly can’t recall if Capt. Brad Sperling of the “Brassy Hooker” sent in the video, or if it was angler Mark Galloway, but either way, awesome job gents!

Salt Strong material for sure!

P.P.S. – About halfway through they get some awesome underwater footage of the massive school of redfish.

Can you say “Calamari” for years?

These California anglers were only about 1 mile off of La Jolla, CA when they came across one of the largest schools of squid they had ever seen.

According to the fishermen, they were in 80 feet of water, and shortly after seeing some squid they lit up the water with their high-powered lights on board, and then they “woke up” this unbelievable school of squid.

They estimate that it was 50 tons of squid in that school from their experience with squid fishing.

Wowzers!

It’s not every day that we see professional quality videos (with drone footage) from the “Offshore Grouper” guys…

And nothing against offshore bottom fishing for fish like Grouper and Snapper by any sense of the imagination.

Heck, I think we would all agree that Grouper and Snapper are some of the best fish to target (fun fight and incredibly good eating).

But the reason we rarely see professional videos on these offshore anglers is that the drone footage and professional videography if usually reserved for the high-flying fish like Marlin (offshore) and Tarpon (inshore)…

However, Capt. Mike from Findictive Charters (in conjunction with Bryan Flores and his team at Naples Drone Photography) proved us all wrong with this epic offshore video filmed near Naples, FL. And I hope it only means we get to see more videos like this one…

I don’t know about you, but it had me dying to go out offshore for Grouper!

Amazing job guys.

422.

That was the current world record in terms of total marlin caught and released in a single year.

That was until Team Carol Libby set out to beat the existing “422” marlin fishing world record…

And what happened was truly incredible.

Check out the final numbers the crew ended up with for the year. Pretty sick!

Team Carol Libby Stats – 2014:

Most Blue Marlin Released in a Single- Season: 884 [old record: 422]
Most Blue Marlin Tagged in a Single-Season: 589
Most Blue Marlin Released in One Day: 34
Most Blue Marlin Released in One Day by a Single Angler: 22

You’ve got to see for yourself in the video highlight below. Awesome job crew!

And great job to Pelagic Gear for documenting it all.

We have seen some pretty amazing viral fishing videos this year since my brother and I started Salt Strong.

What’s funny is that it is shockingly hard to predict which fishing videos will actually go Viral.

Some of the videos that I am certain will go viral don’t take off like I thought they would, while others that I would never would have bet money on, end up taking off. However, every now and I then I predict one perfectly (but it is rare).

At the end of the day, you just never know what the majority of people are going to find so amazing they just have to share.

All we can do is keep showing off the very best viral fishing videos and letting you decide.

Finally, since we officially took our site SaltStrong.com on January 1st of this year, it made complete sense to do a Top 10 Most Viral Fishing Videos for the first 6 months of the year.

Because let’s face it, unless you have been coming to our site every day since January, you might have missed a few of these. And there are some pretty sick fishing videos in this list below.

Hope you enjoy!

I am willing to bet your last fishing charter didn’t turn out like this one…

Because it’s not every day you come back from an offshore fishing charter with an EXTRA 200 lbs of meat…

But for this incredibly lucky angler named Scott Gettle, that was the case this past weekend as he went out with Captain Tom Boyll of Sarasota Offshore.

Here’s the scoop:

Tom, Scott, and few others went long-range offshore fishing this past weekend (well over 100 miles off of Sarasota), and while out in about 550 feet of water, Scott hooked into a Monstrous fish.

After a solid 30 minute fight with what everyone on the boat knew was going to be a big fish, they all gasped when they saw the MASSIVE 270lb Warsaw Grouper finally surface.

In fact, this grouper rivals the size of many of the Goliath Grouper trophies that we publish on our page (see all of the best Goliath Grouper videos in this video library).

A grouper so big, it took up a huge chunk of space in the boat (you can see the size of the boat they were out in at the 18-second mark).

For those of you wondering how Scott was able to legally keep this grouper, it is because this is a Warsaw Grouper (not a Goliath Grouper), and the legal limit in Florida allows you to keep 1 (one) Warsaw Grouper per day… of course, this one was enough to feed everyone’s family.

Amazing job Scott and Captain Tom Boyll! This was certainly not an easy fish to land!

If you have been on our website before (SaltStrong.com), there is a good chance you have come across Darcizzle from Darcizzle Offshore.

She made her first appearance on Salt Strong way back in January with “6 Steps To Avoid Seasickness” (watch that video here).

Then we posted a video of Darcizzle Snook Fishing that really blew up (watch Darcizzle catching snook on the beach here)!

A few videos later we found ourselves interviewing Darcizzle (and putting her through our tough fishing/camping/outdoors quiz), where we all had an absolute blast (watch the interview video here).

Then a week ago, Darcizzle sent us her first show that was mostly underwater (she went spearfishing with the FAU spearfishing team – you can watch it here).

Needless to say, our audience loves Darcizzle, and I guess you can’t blame them…

Check out her most recent video below where Darcizzle and Kim fish the Downtown Showdown Tournament going for Kingfish aboard the boat, “Angler Management
