We have seen some creative underwater GoPro footage of sharks before, but this one takes the blue ribbon…

Not only did professional photographer/videographer Eric Cheng build an amazing GoPro mounting system to get raw footage of sharks eating, he managed to get some of the best shark footage we have seen yet.

And at one point in the video, one of the Reef Sharks steals the GoPro (while still filming) and takes some great footage while in his mouth.

Well done Eric!

This is epic footage, and well worth the risk of the GoPro to get this kind of footage from a shark’s mouth.

Note: This was all filmed down in the Bahamas and these are Lemon Sharks and Reef Sharks

As if the tarpon footage (they get footage of the GoPro right inside the tarpon’s mouth) from Robbies of Islamorada wasn’t enough for this awesome video (it could have been its own video in itself), this guy’s hammerhead story is pretty amazing.

Could you imagine being down in the water with a big (10 foot) hammerhead shark while it circled you, sized you up, and came by and brushed you…

Most of us would have been screaming in our mouthpiece…

But this young guy from NPI Productions kept cool and kept his GoPro steady.

Lesson learned…Don’t take pictures or video of Hammerhead Sharks.

However, it appears as if this young dude attracts wild times based on the stitches in his chin…

Can you imagine cleaning a fish (with blood and guts dripping down in the water as well) while sharks swam by your feet in less than a foot of water?

Sounds crazy right?

Well at Compass Cay in the Bahamas, this kind of fish cleaning setup just comes with the territory.

In fact, this locally-famous dock is under water most of the day, and the dock routinely has the local sharks hanging out to get sun and a free meal.

But don’t worry, these are just harmless nurse sharks that have pretty much become as tame as hamster that a 3rd grader would have in their room.

And in my personal opinion, these nurse sharks are safer than any cat out there…but that’s another story…

You probably can’t read the small wooden sign in front of the guy cleaning the fish, but it says, “Meet our Pet Sharks…”

Pretty cool stuff!

Check out this other great video from the same “shark dock” in Compass Cay where you can see the Compass Cay Pet Sharks above and below water.

For those of you shark anglers out there, you might want to hit up the coast of Louisiana in the months of February and March…

Because apparently there is a shark convention every February and March off of the coast of Louisiana…

This shark migration footage is from Grande Isle, Louisiana and the text can be a bit confusing because it says the sharks are migrating north.

What is happening here is the sharks are migrating north into the Gulf of Mexico after traveling south across the east coast.

And as this video reveals, it is a ton of sharks moving to warmer water.

Who would have though Louisiana would be the headquarters for shark conventions…

Australian angler Brendon Hilder went down to Shelly Beach in Western Australia with nothing but a hand line, a hook, some bait, and a dream to catch some dinner from the beach…

But after seeing a shark that had spooked away most of the fish that he was going after, he decided to see if the shark would bite…

And boy did it.

It turned out to be a 12ft shark (4 meters)…much more than Brendon bargained for with his hand line.

After an agonizing TWO HOUR fight using nothing but his hands and body to maneuver and fight the huge shark, Brendon finally had to get a little help from on onlooker for the last bit of the fight.

In Brendon’s own words, “A 4m shark has a fair bit of pull on it. I was absolutely knackered … I couldn’t even hold my handle, I was that buggered.”

Unfortunately Brendon was so “Buggered” that he didn’t have an ounce of energy (or time) to take any video footage. There are a few clips on the web from onlookers, but none of them really do it justice.

While deep sea fishing in New Zealand with Captain Bucko, this couple had the fishing surprise of their life!

As they reeled in what they thought was going to be a great catch, they realized that a shark had beaten them to the punch…

But that wasn’t the end of it.

All of a sudden…

POW!

The shark comes back for more right next to the boat, scaring the heck out of the anglers and guide.

In fact, you can hear the cameraman say that he almost soiled his pants.

Nature at its wildest here!

This scuba diver got a little more than he bargained for when he signed up the “Feed the Hammerhead Sharks” in the Bahamas earlier this year…

What normally is a fun and easy going (yet still adrenaline rushing) experience of feeding sharks, turned a bit more scary for one diver as a huge hammerhead started getting a bit aggressive with him.

In fact, the hammerhead tried to make a run at the diver (that was feeding him) multiple times.

But although I am sure had I been the diver in this video I would have described to everyone that it was a “terrifying shark attack”, this video clearly isn’t a “Great Hammerhead Shark Attack”…more of a shark attempted attack…

And is it just me, or was that Hammerhead Shark laughing at the 2:00 minute mark while he was eating?

The first time I saw it, I swear he was laughing while chomping down on the bait he took from the diver.

Leave me a comment and let me know if you think the hammerhead was laughing or not.

Two summers ago my family and I went to Destin Beach, Florida to relax, get some sun, have a few adult drinks, and to show our daughter how to build sand castles.

I recall our young daughter not wanting to go into the ocean the entire trip.

Perhaps she knew something we didn’t…like the fact that there might have been a large hammerhead shark at Destin Beach that day as well…

In all seriousness, the chance of you ever getting attacked by a shark are pretty slim considering how many people are in the ocean every day compared to how many actually get bitten by a shark.

But this is still a great reminder to keep you eyes peeled while out in the ocean, and everyone once in a while it actually pays to listen to someone from New Jersey yelling “Hammerhead Shark” from a balcony.

This is one of the most aggressive shark attacks on HD I have seen this year (and people send us a lot of them).

In this video, a young guy is fighting a nice spanish mackerel in North Queensland (Weipa, Australia)…a great fishing area that also happens to have a ton of sharks.

After getting the mackerel next to the boat, his mate gets a bad shot with the gaff, and the mackerel is off for one last run…

And then the offshore tax-man comes to get his share…

Enter Aggressive Shark Attack…

And I think the lesson from this shark attack video is “Don’t screw up the gaff”.
