WARNING: If you have ever been lobstering in Florida before, then this video is going to give you goosebumps…

(And make sure to stick around for the full video as the amount of lobster get thicker and thicker as it goes on)

Can you imagine going scouting for lobster holes and coming across this spiny lobster spot!

And if you aren’t an avid lobster hunter, then here is why this lobster video is so amazing.

Usually, when lobstering in the Florida Keys, you find lobster that are trying to protect themselves behind or under structure like rocks, coral, sunken ships, etc.

And Florida spiny lobster usually aren’t in packs of 100 either…

But as you will see in this video, the lobster are so thick in this area, that they ran out of places to hide.

They are just sitting on the sandy bed waiting to get plucked!

According to the video’s owner, this was in Islamorada, Florida during the 2014 Lobster Mini-Season.

I’d say that diver and spearfisherman Justin Smith had a pretty good day!

While diving off of the coast of North Carolina last month, Justin not only bagged handful of megalodon teeth, but he also bagged some grouper.

All while fending off a hungry shark.

And did he make it look incredibly easy to find Megalodon shark teeth or what? I’m guessing that I’ve passed over quite a few of them in my days of diving.

Pretty cool stuff man.

Enjoy!

What a strike!

Although the video had a bit of a weird ending, the first minute or so is pretty epic!

An angler attaches a camera to his fishing line while jigging near Ascension Island to see what he could capture.

You see the jig hit the bottom of the ocean, start going up through a school of fish, and then out of nowhere…

Yellowfin Tuna Explosion!

How cool!

Have you ever seen a lionfish up close before?

The are a strikingly beautiful and exotic looking fish that looks like it belongs in a fancy salt water aquarium…

However, these fish are cold-blooded, venomous, predatory killers!

They kill off fish communities (eating other fish in one bite), disrupting habitats all over Florida, stinging things with their venomous spiky fin rays, and causing nothing but mischief.

In fact, it is probably the only fish that the state of Florida it basically telling angler to “kill/harvest” as many as possible…

One main reason is that besides this brave grouper in the video, Lionfish don’t have many natural predators…

And the female lionfish can carry up to 15,000 eggs!!!

So you can understand how quickly they can take over and dominate an underwater habitat.

But in this video, the grouper gets the last laugh on the lionfish.

There are three things in the outdoors that I can watch for hours…

  1. Waves hitting the beach
  2. Staring at a fire while camping
  3. Tarpon feeding

So when I started watching this awesome tarpon feeding footage from Capt. Wade Pryor and Shelley Green down in the Florida Keys, I could have sworn that tarpon came up and took a bite on the GoPro!

Thankfully they did a slo-mo instant replay that confirmed what I thought.

That’s when you know you have some hungry tarpon!

Enjoy.

What a snook honey hole!

Although it appears as though it might be in a marina, it’s still awesome to see so many snook packed in there like that!

Check out how many linesiders are down under the dock waiting for their turn.

Heck, even a few catfish showed up to the feeding party.

Certainly NOT the biggest school of snook ever recorded on film (like this epic school of snook), but certainly up there in numbers.

Great job by angler Justin Sikora for filming this on his GoPro. I loved how crystal clear it was down there.

Snook Strong!

Wow!

This could be one of the best spearfishing videos of the year!

Talk about some amazing shots and wild footage.

The toughest part about this one was trying to figure out which part of the video to feature in the headline and thumbnail picture…

These guys (they call themselves Team Descent Spearfishing out of South Florida – Divers Greyson Dixon, Joe Cooper, and some friends are in this video) pluck off cobia, king mackerel, permit, and more in this epic video.

But after watching it twice, I decided “The Cobia Run” part was too good to not feature. These guys were going head to head with some pretty massive bull sharks with blood in the water.

I don’t know about you but the last place I want to be is in the water with bull sharks when there is blood next to me… same goes for hammerhead sharks which you will also see in this video.

At any rate, check out all of the great spearfishing action in this one. Great job Descent Spearfishing Team!

Enjoy.

Can you imagine diving into an almost pitch black underwater cave…

All while holding your breath and staying as calm as Cool Hand Luke…

Well professional free diver Guilliaume Nery sure can!

And they call this underwater jump into Dean’s Blue Hole “Saltwater Base Jumping

Pretty darn rad!

And with the amazing videography from his gal pal Julie Gautier, this Salt-water base jumping is one of our favorites yet.

Just to let you know how tough Julie Gautier is, below is the title of the actual video from YouTube (notice that Julie was filming down there with no tanks…pretty legit)

Guillaume Nery base jumping at Dean’s Blue Hole, filmed on breath hold by Julie Gautier

Also take note at the 3-minute mark of this video – Julie does a close-up of Guilliaume Nery at the very bottom of Dean’s Blue Hole, and there is a very quick shot of his wetsuit that has the word “Ball” written across his chest.

Well I think they should change that that “I’ve got Balls of Steel”

If you are wondering where this “Blue Hole” is, it is in the Bahamas, it is right off of the beach, and the locals believe that it was dug by the devil (seriously). There was even a 60 minutes episode on this (click here to see the 60 minutes episode).

Also, if you missed the other amazing underwater video from Guillaume and Julie that we posted a week about the Ocean’s Crazy Currents, check it out here.

I can recall seeing the still image of this amazing “Jack Attack” photo shoot that was making its way across Facebook and Instagram

A bit skeptical (as I had never seen anything like it), my first thought was I wondered if there was some photoshopping going on… as it looked so freaking amazing.

But I finally came across the live footage of this video shoot from Octavio Aburto and saw the awesomeness of this jack trevally mating ritual first hand.

Pretty amazing footage of a fishing mating ritual that is most likely to be seen off of Cabo Pulmos, Mexico…

The same place this video was taken.

FYI, the guy in the actual video (as Octavio was the one doing the video) was his friend David Castro, who clearly had some amazing positioning for this documentary.

Jack Attack Salt Strong gents!

Can you imagine casting a plug into this school? If you can’t catch a fish here, you probably can’t catch a fish.

Enjoy.
