He’s back…

Alex Fogg, aka “The Lionfish Killer”, is a back with another awesome video where he and a few of the Reef Rangers put a hurting on the pesky lionfish.

This time they are in Pensacola (approximately 15mi Southwest of Pensacola Pass). in 100ft of water.

Notice a few sharks come up hoping for a free lionfish meal.

Also, if you are interested in killing loads of lionfish and helping clean up the reefs here in Florida, make sure to check out the Reef Ranger program. They are looking for a few good men and women.

What an amazing R/C crash caught on film!

And is it just me or does this remote control electric powered plane fly pretty freaking high?

I kept waiting for a big Delta jet to go zooming by at 10,000 feet…

Anywho, if you thought the footage of this R/C plane flying all over Cape Range National Park is Western Australia, just wait until you see what happens when the plane loses course and crashes into the ocean!

The spiraling flight into the sea had me on seat’s edge… I felt like it was one of those 3D movies where I was in the cockpit.

And then there is some pretty amazing footage of what animals are hanging around the reef once the plane lands.

Turtles, sharks, reef fish, and more!

According to the video, the electric powered remote control plane was completely destroyed, but the “Black Box GoPro” tells the story in High Def!

Enjoy!

Do you know which fish is the fastest fish in the sea?

And have you heard of Roberta Mancino before?

Well, you are about to see the two collide (almost literally)…

Because the fastest fish in the ocean is the sailfish, and one of the bravest gals in the ocean is Roberta Mancino, and she is on a mission to go swimming with sailfish.

Roberta Mancino is known as the attractive daredevil skydiver, but apparently she also has no fear underwater adventure either.

In this amazing underwater footage from Mexico, Roberta swims with huge manta rays, gets some unbelievable footage with a whale shark, then finally gets her chance to dive with, dance with, and dodge the fastest fish in the world… the sailfish.

So cool!

These amazing sailfish reach speeds up to 110km per hour, and you can see in this video just how quick they move and trap bait with their sword-like bill.

Well done Roberta Mancino!

Another awesome stunt!

And great job to the fastest fish in the ocean for showing up in perfect form at the last second.

Enjoy.

If you like catching speckled trout (aka spotted sea trout), then you will love this video!

Anthony of TB Wild Images took his scuba gear, a couple of scuba lights, and a GoPro down and captured this amazing evening speckled trout feeding frenzy.

It was all filmed at night, and the lights were attracting the bait fish, which attracted the trout, which attracted some awesome trout attacking bait footage!

Just want until you see how many trout showed up by the end of the video.

What a trout feeding frenzy!

So cool to see this up close like this!

I guess we all know when and what we should be using to catch hungry trout in the Tampa Bay area now…

Amazing footage Anthony!

A big thanks to Logan Roberts of Tampa for sending this along.

Enjoy!

Talk about underwater highway Robbery!

These Goliath Grouper sit down by wrecks and just wait for a free meal…

Whether it be a hooked fish or speared fish, the Goliath Grouper doesn’t care.

Check out this wild footage of multiple Goliath Grouper attacking spearfishermen’s catches.

It was like the entire school of grouper were teaming up against this diver!

The grouper at the end actually pulled the driver around like it was nothing!

I bet he doesn’t go spearfishing on this wreck again.

Tough to compete with hungry Goliath Grouper that weigh more than you do…

As a final note, thank goodness this guy was underwater while he was yelling… otherwise, I am pretty sure we the language would have prevented it from getting on Salt Strong!

Enjoy!

Depending on where you live in the world, these tasty underwater “buggers” may be called spiny lobster, crayfish, or bugs…

But regardless of what you call them, there is no arguing that the lobster/crayfish these guys are pulling out from the rocks are some big ones!

And if you have ever been free diving for lobster in the Florida Keys, you know that most divers use a tickle stick and a net to catch lobster.

So yanking them out with your hands is certainly more of a fine art.

You will notice the bottom of the lobster’s belly has some unique color. These are known as “Painted Crays” in Australia where the video is taken.

Great job OnPoint Spearfishing team!

When artists and photographer Derek DeYoung placed an underwater camera near the roots of some mangrove trees in the Florida Keys, he had no idea what kind of footage would be on the film.

I can only imagine him sitting at his computer with his jaw dropped when he saw the amazing tarpon footage that he captured.

What a sight!

And how to cool to see the mangroves doing their part to grow such a healthy tarpon population.

Talk about a backcountry honey hole for juvenile tarpon!

Now if we can only get Derek to give us the GPS numbers to this mangrove line…

Great job Derek!

Enjoy.

Holy Extreme Cobia Spearfishing!!!

After thousands of people saw our friend Joey Antonelli take a bite to the family jewels by a triggerfish (you can see that viral video here), he has had numerous redemption videos to make up for it.

But this has to be his best video yet.

Just wait until you see what happens at these two marks:

3:10 mark

4:08 mark

Not only do these guy spear cobia off the backs of bull sharks, but they have some pretty close encounters with the sharks as well.

Now I don’t know about you, but when I am freediving, the two things that I want to see the least of are as follows:

  1. Bull Sharks
  2. Lots of blood in the water

Yet, this video is full of both.

Amazing job to all of the divers in this video (Matt Budd, Taylor Heflin, Scott Fricker, and Joey Antonelli)

You guys are officially nuts!

And stay tuned until the very end as they even shoot a flounder from the boat!

Enjoy.

He’s back…

Yep, Alex Fogg (aka the “Lionfish Killer”) has a new video out.

And this time he featured not one, but two new marine cameos… a camouflaged stingray and an angry lobster.

Check out Alex and the Reef Ranger team go to town on this pyramid reef near Pensacola, Florida.

And if you don’t think we have a lionfish problem here in Florida, just look and see how these invasive species have taken over this entire pyramid.

But thanks to the good folks at the FWC and the Reef Rangers, our reefs stand a fighting chance.

Great job on the 400lb lionfish removal guys!

Enjoy.
