Since it’s Friday, I figured I would give you a little something to bring a smile to your face…

Because no matter how bad your week has been, this guy is most likely still hurting worse than you are.

According to the guy with the camera (Paul Grever), he made a bet with his buddy that he couldn’t make this dock jump with a beer in his hand.

I won’t ruin it for you, but let’s just say the result was painful (not to mention he spilled his beer)… and I would say Paul certainly won the bet…

And his friends laughing at the very end was the ultimate icing on the cake!

The Lesson: Be safe out there on the water this weekend and just say “No” to bets with your buddies involving jumping on docks!

P.P.S. – You might have to watch this a couple of times like I did!

I’ll be honest, when I first saw this video with some sort of  “donut-shaped, futuristic looking boat” in it, I wasn’t sure what to think of this personal watercraft known as the “UltraSkiff 360”.

But after watching this video below (along with the picture of Josea with the redfish and another video UltraSkiff created showing how it holds against with big waves), I was pretty darn impressed.

This patented and lightweight personal watercraft is called the Ultraskiff 360, it weighs 125 lbs (without any tackle, cooler, etc), and it has a 6ft diameter.

From the looks of it (I have not used one personally), it is next to impossible to flip over, and it can be transported with ease.

And they have had people buy it for all kinds of uses:

  • Freshwater fishing
  • Saltwater fishing
  • Hunting (even using it as a duck blind)
  • And even just as a cooler version of a nice canoe (a really nice canoe can run you well over $1,000 these days)

Can you catch fish out of them?

Check out this great pic of another guy catching a nice bull redfish out of his UltraSkiff.

So what do you think?

Would you go fishing in this?

Personally, I’m pretty sure that I would never take this “skiff” offshore, but for inshore fishing on a budget, this UltraSkiff 360 is pretty darn cool.

Wondering how much these UltraSkiff 360 boats cost?

According to the UltraSkiff website, the current price of a brand new UltraSkiff 360 is $1,595 (with free shipping).

Check it out.

Happy Freshwater Friday!

“Oh Nelly” is right Mikey…

If you don’t know MikeyBalzz, he is actually a pretty experienced bass angler.

He has millions of views on his YouTube channel, he competes in bass tournaments, and he has a loyal following of bass anglers.

And just like any angler, we all have our good days and our bad days…

This happened to be one of Mikey’s bad days… fortunately for us it was all captured on film and Mikey had the “Balzz” to publish it.

I am certain this is a bass fishing trip he will never forget (and certainly his fishing buddies will never let him forget it).

Either way, great job of saving the hat and the sunglasses!

Enjoy!

I kept resisting the urge to post this “Pink Dolphin Video” on our site (because a pink dolphin is not what comes to mind when I think Salt Strong), but we are also here to report the latest and most sharable news in and around saltwater…

So after this incredibly rare pink dolphin encounter kept hitting my inbox and alerts, I figured it was our duty to share this rare dolphin named “Pinky” with you.

In what could be the most exciting thing to call Lousiana home since Britney Spears and Lil’ Wayne, Pinky the pink dolphin has made another rare appearance near the LA shores.

Captain Erik Rue of Calcasieu Charter Service captured this wild footage of a rare pink (not albino) dolphin right off the coast of Louisiana where he usually fishes.

And he says this is not the first time he has seen Pinky.

But even more shocking is the fact that Capt. Erik says he believes Pinky is mating!

I wonder what the babies will look like? Only time will tell.

Enjoy!

This is what happens when Bass Fishing meets Flats Fishing

Now this flats boat below might not be as fast as the “Fastest Pontoon Boat In The World at 114MPH” (watch that here), but this baby will move!

Not to mention, it can go is some serious skinny water!

This amazing flats boat has a 400HP Liquid Cooled Super Charged Mercury Racing Motor on a Custom Stingray Flats Boat made by Simmons Custom Boats (SCB)and it can hit 75MPH+ without breaking a sweat!

So what do you think?

Is this the fastest flats boat out there?

I bet someone has tried something even crazier than this 400HP.

FACT: This old man in the video is Salt Strong!

Just wait until you watch this old crocodile expert put on a show in Queensland, Australia with his “pet” crocodile!

I about jumped out of my seat when he was trying to get the croc to come out of the water in the beginning!

And then he puts on a grand finale by riding the crocodile back into his saltwater home.

What a stud!

Enjoy the video, and be glad this isn’t your full-time job!

This kayak launch fail is in honor of Labor Day…

The end of the summer weekend when all of the “Googans” come out of the woodwork to clog up the waterways, boat ramps, and fishing spots.

Yesterday I watched a guy and his girlfriend take 25 minutes to launch of small gheenoe from a trailer that should have taken no more than 3 minutes (they could have picked it up and dropped it in quicker).

Everything they did was textbook wrong…

But nothing compares to this kayak launch fail below!

I won’t ruin it for you, but definitely watch all the way until the end.

Just when you think he is about to make it, things take a turn for the worse… again.

Enjoy and be safe out there on the water!

And if you are ever in a similar situation, try launching your kayak away from the jetty where the waves are…

P.P.S. – So what do you think? Should the guy filming have helped out or was it too late by time he realized the kayak angler had no business being out there? Let us know in the comments.

Imagine this…

You and your buddy are out fishing for sharks while recording some great footage.

After a 15-minute fight with a shark, you finally bring a nice thresher shark up the boat.

You pull the shark up out of the water to show off your catch for that one last money shot on film and then…

Pa-POW!!!

The thresher shark has his ultimate revenge!

Not to mention, hundreds of thousands of anglers get to witness your release fail on film.

Enjoy!

We literally just got off of the boat with our friends Mallory and Captain Andrew Herzog of Big Bully Outdoors for a little Friday morning fishing, and the 4-hour dose of “Nature” has me feeling great right now!

Certainly more so than had I stayed indoors in front on this darn computer…

Apparently, this whole “Nature” thing really does work… especially when you combine it with a fishing pole in your hand.

In all seriousness, check out this epic “Nature Spoof”!

Here is a note from the video:

Behind the humor and parody of Nature Rx is good science. Research shows that spending more time in nature improves your health, well-being, and leads to making better environmental decisions. Find out more…http://www.nature-rx.org/research/
