Happy Freshwater Friday!

We’ve got a pretty awesome one for you today (especially if you are into drones and fishing).

In this video, Farmer Derek Klingenberg (the same farmer behind the hit parody song “What Does The Farmer Say?”) tests out his new drone over a pond on his farm.

And what would a drone over a pond on a farm be without a line, hook, and bobber?

Check out what happens when Farmer Derek does a little drone fishing!

I love this thing!

It’s basically a Fishing Bait Rocket Launcher!

It’s officially called the “Sand Blaster Bait Caster”, and the guy in the video using this amazing fishing gadget is Tom Clark. The company that makes and sells these things is called “Bunker Up Fishin'” (check them out here on this site).

Certainly a game-changer for land-based beach anglers who enjoy things like surf fishing, sea wall fishing, and pier fishing.

Who ever would have imagined there would be a cannon-like bait caster that could launch a heavy bait out 300 yards! That is 3 football fields!

All I know is you better have a HUGE spool of line on your spinning reel because if you hook into a big shark out 300 yards, don’t expect it to just come right in without taking out any line.

Note: These retail for $999.99 (that includes a 6-pack of bait molds, 6 rigs, a rig holder, and all shipping costs)

Whoever said the toughest part of Marlin fishing is getting them to bite…

I bet if you asked deckhand Joe Freeman, he would tell you toughest part about Marlin fishing is the release…

Watch as Joe literally gets washed overboard while leadering and trying to release this Striped Marlin on the back platform of a boat (while the clients were up on the main deck certainly laughing a bit).

Probably the last time ol’ Joe jumped on the back platform to release a fish…

Enjoy!

Happy Early Freshwater Friday!

This crazy event just happened, and it was too good to wait until Friday.

And you will see why this video certainly puts a new spin on the phrase, “Catfishing”.

Could you imagine being out on the river and seeing a small orange head slowly moving toward your boat?

Then all of a sudden you realize that it’s a Cat!

These bass fishermen from Alabama will certainly never forget these catfish…

I wonder if they submitted them as new Alabama state records for 4-Legged Catfish?

Either way, we’ll probably never know how they got out there, but a good thing these guys were there to make the save.

Sunday Funday!

And what better fishing video to post than an old clip of David Letterman fishing with actor Chris Elliott (who played in one of the most random movies of all time called “Cabin Boy”).

The skit was called “Dave’s Rod & Reel”.

And the part where Dave and Paul describe what fishing gear they are using is hilarious!

I won’t ruin the rest of it for you… let’s just say it gets kind of weird toward the end (just like any movie with Chris Elliott).

THIS…

IS…

PAINFUL!

And his friends laughing hysterically at him make this hilariously painful spearfishing video even that much better!

When we saw our friend Joey Antonelli’s video title “Triggerfish Gone Nuttz”, we first thought to ourselves, “No way.”

But then we watched the video…

And after replaying it a couple of times last night I literally had tears coming down my face.

I won’t ruin it for you, but let’s just say this was a painful spearfishing experience. And you know it is serious when you have to pull a sharp dive knife out and direct it towards your family jewels.

By the way, these triggerfish have some of the meanest teeth in the ocean!

Wowzers!

Enjoy!

Talk about a die-hard fisherman!

Can you imagine driving down the road and passing a small boat that is being pulled by a disability scooter?

Notice that the driver (using a “Dash Cam”) even turned around to pass by the disabled guy in the scooter one more time to make sure he wasn’t seeing things.

This video originally appeared on the Facebook page “Dash Cam Owners Australia”, and their audience shared this thing like crazy down under.

What was interesting is the negative “trolls” still found a way to make sour comments about the disabled guy breaking safety rules, etc…

I say that if a man wants to fish that bad, then by all means let the man fish…

What are your thoughts on this? Let me know in the comments.

Ouch!

This is painful to watch…

Coincidentally, this $12 million dollar boat (the “Aloha” is a 99ft, Custom Line, Navetta 2009) sunk off of Greece just shortly after Greece’s economy sunk…

But fortunately, just like the stock market sinking, no one was actually hurt in the physical matter during this boat sinking… just mentally… (reports say the boat owner and guests were rescued by nearby boat and no one was hurt).

I can only imagine that the owner was either crying or high-fiving depending on his boat insurance policy.

At any rate, enjoy this footage of the $12 million Aloha sinking, and just be glad that it’s not you!

And in this wild video below, Team Googan is going after Tarpon… using nothing but 10lb braid on a kid’s “Amazing Spiderman Fishing Rod”.

Not to mention, he is doing this in his kayak right out in front of South Beach, Miami.

Epic.

The OFFICIAL Spiderman Tarpon video is at the bottom of this post, but I wanted to post his amazing “Spiderman Rod Review” here as well. He even hooks a shark on it while doing the review!
