When Back to Basics Adventure stars Aaron “Az” Gallagher and Jack “Stricko” Strickland went spearfishing on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, the last thing they expected was any type of shark attack…

And as avid divers and experienced spear fishermen, they certainly didn’t expect to be chasing a shark that had stolen their spear gun!

But that is exactly what happens in this amazing video that we have dubbed “Shark Steals Spear Gun“!

Shortly after Jack “Stricko” gets a solid shot off on a Snapper (with his speargun that has a reel line on the gun), the Snapper wraps itself around some coral, forcing Stricko to try to untangle the spear line.

Within seconds, a shark sees an easy meal and blasts onto the scene from out of nowhere, attacking Stricko’s dinner while he has to watch helplessly.

The shark then makes a quick run at Stricko, and as he tries to ward off the shark with his long dive fins, he lets go of the speargun, only to see the shark head back down to take off with the fish and his gun…

You will have to watch the rest of the video to see if he ever gets his spear back…

Enjoy and please SHARE if you thought this was as Amazing as we did!

Back when I was in high school, I used to love heading out on the lake in my canoe with two fishing rods and a small cooler to catch largemouth bass (not to be confused with hammerhead sharks).

So when I saw the title of this video come across my desk, I was pretty darn curious.

And when I saw that this video was from the same young dudes that made it on our home page with the “We’ve Got To Get A Bigger Boat” video (see that video here), I was pretty stoked to see what kind of trouble they got into this time.

The title says it all…

These young guys head out in canoes, hook a huge hammerhead shark, and spend the rest of the afternoon being pulled around like feathers before finally landing it.

Pretty awesome stuff guys!

P.S. – Don’t forget to share with someone that loves fishing. You Rock!

It was just 3 days ago that we reported on the Great White Shark that surprised the diver off of Port Canaveral, FL (watch it here).

And it seems like every month there is a new siting of a Great White Shark off some Florida beach.

So begs the question:

  1. Are there are actually more Great White Sharks in and around Florida than ever before OR
  2. Are we just more sophisticated with always having GoPros, underwater cameras, and tracking devices to discover them more than ever?

Either way, Great Whites are clearly here, they have more of a right to be in the water than we do, and we have to deal with it.

In this video, Grayson Shepard is diving in the Gulf of Mexico going after lionfish, when all of a sudden a large Great White Shark comes out of nowhere up his dive line! Fortunately, Grayson had a spear gun in hand, and the Great White didn’t stick around for long.

Wondering where this occurred?

Apalachicola, Florida

Note: One of the divers with him on the boat was none other than Alex Fogg, “The Lionfish Killer” from the video that went VIRAL on our site a little over a month ago. If you didn’t see it, click here after you watch the video below. It is a must see!

Somebody give this guy a medal (or a junior doctor certificate) as he was the hero of the day on this beach!

Why?

Because this random man rescued three baby sharks from their dead mother’s belly!

After coming upon a dead shark on the beach, this amazing family noticed that something was moving in the shark’s stomach, so the man used a knife to cut into the stomach to see what it was..

And thankfully for today’s easy access to video cameras, the entire scene was caught on film!

Enjoy!

P.S. – Although ‘hatching’ within their mother and staying inside them for up to two years, sharks pups quickly swim away after being born to prevent being eaten by their mothers, so it’s safe to say the sharks have no disadvantage because of their beach birth as they are fully independent once born.

When diver Zack Spurlock was doing a routine dive for Lionfish about 25 miles southeast of Port Canaveral, Florida, the last thing he expected to see was a Great White Shark!

But out of the blue, Zack spotted the huge shark down towards the bottom (about 90 feet), and he watched it slowly make its rounds to head over to Zack!

Luckily for us, his friends Alli and Joe Penovich were ready with a GoPro they passed down to Zack, and the entire Great White Shark surprise was caught on film!

According to Zack’s notes, he never would have seen the massive shark behind him if it hadn’t been for his friends yelling at him, and he notes that these huge creatures can get in your blind spot within split seconds.

To me, the craziest thing about this video wasn’t the shark siting off of Florida, it was the fact that Zack had the guts to go down and chase it. I was holding my breath watching the last part of the video just wondering when the scene was going to turn gruesome…

Zack, you are certainly Salt Strong brother!

Growing up spending some quite a bit of time surfing and boogie-boarding at my aunt and uncles house in Melbourne Beach, FL had me on the edge of my seat watching this great white shark video.

I mean, can you imagine enjoying a nice day of scuba diving and spearfishing in one of your favorite spots in your hometown, when all of a sudden you see it… the terrifying shadow of a huge Great White Shark that passes right over your shoulder.

Before you can ask yourself, “What is the world is this Great White doing here”, you need to figure out an escape route, because the tables have turned and YOU have now become the hunted. But this huge shark isn’t making it easy on you to get out of the area, as he continues to make circles around you, sizing you up, and trying to decide if you are a good meal or not…

If you have ever been scuba diving or freediving, then you know that this is one of the most terrifying great white shark encounters you’ll ever see (hopefully you won’t personally see one that is worse…)

This great white shark encounter was all caught on a GoPro by Jimmy Roseman of West Melbourne, FL, and the footage was intense to say the least.

I can’t believe how many times the great white made a turn at him.

And I bet Jimmy was glad he had a spear gun that day.

Wowzers!

Josh Jorgensen from BlacktipH knows how to catch sharks better than most people in the world. So when we heard that he uploaded a new video that revealed his biggest bull shark ever, we knew that we were going to like it.

And as always, BlacktipH delivers an amazing video with top-notch quality, good story line, and one heck of a HUGE Bull Shark.

Question for you: Have you ever caught a 600-pound shark?

Let us know your biggest shark in the comment area.

Great job BlacktipH!

A couple of weeks ago, we posted a video that went VIRAL from Eric Cheng called, “Shark Steals GoPro From Diver While Filming” (if you didn’t see it, you really need to by clicking here).

It was shared thousands of times, so we started checking out more of Eric’s videos to see what other great stuff he had. Turns out, this guy is pretty rad.

Why?

He created his own shark video in 3D! Yep, as in you can see things pop out at you in this video if you wear your 3D glasses. Now keep in mind this is a home-made video, not a $100 million box office hit at Imax with the best 3D imaging available to man.

But either way, this is cool stuff.

Enjoy (with our without your 3D glasses)

Let’s face it, it’s not every day that you look over your shoulder while fishing on the flats and see a moving spear gun in the water! Talk about the ultimate curiosity factor…

You start thinking to yourself, “What could possibly be on the other end of this spear gun?”

Is it a big Tuna? Wahoo? Mahi? No snapper could possibly be big enough to withstand a shot from a spear and still be running away with it miles away on the flats…

We are willing to bet that they last thing on angler Chris Lewis’s mind was a shark when he pulled the speargun from the water (because sharks are illegal to spear in the state of Florida)…

But low and behold, when Chris finally sees what is on the other end of the spear gun, it is a shark! We can only assume that the diver shot the shark in self-defense and fled the scene like a girly-man loser (it wasn’t that big of a shark), but we would love to hear your thoughts below in the comment section on what you think happened.

Either way, Chris certainly deserved his prize of a new spear gun for going above and beyond to save the shark!
