Our friend Darcizzle (from Darcizzle Offshore) had a heartbreaker after fighting a nice tarpon in Big Pine Key, FL with Captain Kevin of Relentless Charters.

Shortly after hooking into the nice tarpon, it began pulling Darcizzle near a sailboat, made a few jumps, took her through a bridge, and ultimately tried to wrap itself around a huge concrete pylon.

Hated to see the fish pop the hook at the final hour, but an amazing fight through it all. And that is why it is called fishing and not catching…

Darcizzle = Salt Strong

If you have ever fished for tarpon, you know that they are one of the toughest fighting fish out there.

They jump, they dive, and they do everything possible to throw the hook.

And if you thought trying to land a tarpon from a boat can be tough, wait until you try to catch a tarpon from a bridge!

It is no wonder that we named this video “Fail Compilation” as it is virtually impossible to “land” a nice tarpon from up high on a bridge (and it was clearly not the angler’s intention of landing the tarpon in this video).

However, it sure looks like one heck of a fun time hooking and jumping the silver king from above.

And based on the note from the Infinity Fishing Team angler that was catching the tarpon in this video, he purposely flattens down the barbs to make sure the tarpon always throws the hook after a couple of jumps.

Hope you enjoy!

As if the tarpon footage (they get footage of the GoPro right inside the tarpon’s mouth) from Robbies of Islamorada wasn’t enough for this awesome video (it could have been its own video in itself), this guy’s hammerhead story is pretty amazing.

Could you imagine being down in the water with a big (10 foot) hammerhead shark while it circled you, sized you up, and came by and brushed you…

Most of us would have been screaming in our mouthpiece…

But this young guy from NPI Productions kept cool and kept his GoPro steady.

Lesson learned…Don’t take pictures or video of Hammerhead Sharks.

However, it appears as if this young dude attracts wild times based on the stitches in his chin…

Florida Free Dive & Adventure Series = Salt Strong

We have been big fans of Rich Tudor and Tom Rowland, the two captains behind the saltwater force known as “Saltwater Experience” for quite some time.

These guys know how to catch fish, and they are always entertaining to watch.

In this episode of Saltwater Experience, Rich and Tom go after a massive hammerhead shark that had been attacking their tarpon in the Florida Keys.

After chumming up the waters around a popular bridge (Long Key Bridge) to catch tarpon, they finally spot a hammerhead…

And then another one…

As Tom is fighting a huge hammerhead, a couple other hammerhead sharks show up for a barracuda that Rich is holding out there.

The current is ripping through the bridge, and somehow they make it through the bridge with a 13 ft hammerhead and a unscratched Yellowfin boat

Then in part 2 of this video, Rich hooks into another huge hammerhead shark

Well done gents.

Luke and I have enjoyed watching legendary (and pretty darn entertaining) Captain Blair Wiggins of Addictive Fishing on TV for a very long time.

So when Kevin of Addictive Fishing sent us over this awesome Addictive Fishing video from the “Tortuga fishing files” last night, we were pretty freakin’ stoked.

In this engaging (and impossible to stop watching) fishing expedition that takes place off a deep fishing ledge in the Dry Tortugas (Florida Keys), Captain Blair and Captain Chris Trosset hook up with tons of yellowtail snapper, and some MONSTER black and red grouper.

You will learn how to properly fish a chum line, you will learn some of the best tips to catch keeper Yellowfin Snapper, and you will learn what a “Mang-y” is.

At the end of the video, Blair even shows you all of the gear they used throughout the fishing trip in his “Rig it Right” update.

Blair, Chris, and the fishing team on the 61′ (Starbrite) Viking were fishing in about 100 feet of water near sharp ledges in the Florida Keys for 3 days.

Thanks again Kevin and Blair for sharing with our audience!

Keep up the great work, and Fish On!
