Well, our friends over at Salty Roots did it again…

After their first Tarpon video “Tarpon Insanity” was such a hit (you can see it here), they came out with “Tarpon Insanity 2”.

Watch as the guys fight more tarpon in one video than most people will catch in their lives.

And the fact they did it all from either a paddle board or a kayak is even more impressive.

This certainly has me pumped up for Tarpon season.

Who’s ready to hit the water and chase some silver kings!

Enjoy.

Ever fished Cuba before?

As you probably know, not that many Americans have when you compare it to other popular fishing destinations in the Caribbean.

But even though Cuba is tough to get into for fishing, they do have some of the most amazing inshore fishing in the world, and it has become a very hot destination for avid fly anglers.

And down in Cuba, the ultimate Grand Slam of fly fishing includes catching a Permit, Tarpon, and Bonefish all in one day.

Watch as this lucky angler achieves the slam of the lifetime all in one day.

Not to mention, they edited this amazing video down into 5 awesome minutes of fishing!

Enjoy.

“They leave giant holes in the water…”

Some amazing tarpon quotes in this new video called “Silver Lining” by World Angling Studios.

Heck, I even got a new fish fist-bump to use by watching it (check it out at the 3:00-minute mark)

But just as important as seeing some amazing silver king footage, this tarpon documentary has does a great job in revealing one of the problems the Florida Keys anglers are fighting in regards to cruise ships messing up the tarpon migration.

As anglers, we all need to get behind the fisheries like the Florida Keys, and this video does a great job of spelling out why putting money and resources into reefs and the marine ecosystem is a wiser choice than spending it on cruise ship passages.

Great message guys (minus the footage of the “adult shirts”, but this video was too powerful to not share).

I love the question, “What kind of legacy do we want to leave the next generation when it comes to fishing in the Florida Keys…”

Good stuff.

And check out the school of tarpon an angler is casting into at the 9:20 mark.

What a dream fishing scenario!!!

Enjoy.

When most of here in America think about tarpon fishing, our mind usually goes to places like Boca Grande, the Florida Keys, or the East Coast Mullet Run…

Note: You can watch “The Best Tarpon Video To Ever Come Out Of Boca Grande” here now

But some of the wildest tarpon fishing goes on in the jungles of Nicaragua.

There was a viral video last year called “Jungle Poon Captured On Film” that gave us a first-hand glimpse of what tarpon fishing in the jungle is like.

And since that first amazing tarpon video, I haven’t seen or heard much about tarpon fishing in Nicaragua… until today…

Our friends over at Getaway Tours in Nicaragua upped the game even more with this brand new video they just released.

I can only imagine they are going to be booked solid with anglers wanting to get a piece of this amazing jungle tarpon fishing experience.

Enjoy.

Wow!

Talk about nailing every single point about why people love saltwater kayak fishing so much.

What a video!

I recall a few weeks ago when we interviewed angler Nick Lytle for our podcast (you can listen to the interview here) that he talked about one thing he loved so much about kayak fishing was the fact that you could hear everything.

Fish moving, mullet jumping, birds swooping down on bait… if you are quite and keep your ears perked, you can hear everything while kayak fishing.

In other words, a big part of kayak fishing is listening and being able to experience and hear nature around you while you hunt for fish.

So it was no surprise to hear kayak angler Jim Sammons mention the same thing.

He then goes on to talk about the “electricity” that hits his hands every time a fish hits the reel, not to mention, gets some outstanding footage from some nice fish (like the sailfish, Mahi, and tarpon he lands towards the end).

Great job Jim Sammons of the Kayak Fishing Show!

Enjoy.

When artists and photographer Derek DeYoung placed an underwater camera near the roots of some mangrove trees in the Florida Keys, he had no idea what kind of footage would be on the film.

I can only imagine him sitting at his computer with his jaw dropped when he saw the amazing tarpon footage that he captured.

What a sight!

And how to cool to see the mangroves doing their part to grow such a healthy tarpon population.

Talk about a backcountry honey hole for juvenile tarpon!

Now if we can only get Derek to give us the GPS numbers to this mangrove line…

Great job Derek!

Enjoy.

What a sight!

Tons of tarpon all congregating in a small cavernous area.

I’ve been diving with snook before, but I’ve never experienced a tarpon dive like this.

Pretty darn cool to see so many of these silver kings “nonchalantly” hanging out while a diver swims through them.

This underwater cave area is known as “Eden’s Rock” in the Cayman Islands, and the video footage was from Monika Wojtkiewicz.

Certainly an amazing place to dive, not to mention, a great place to see (and potentially catch) tarpon.

Bonefish?

Check.

Permit?

Check.

Tarpon?

Check.

Cuba?

Check.

No wonder they’ve been trying to keep us out of Cuba for so long! This place is one heck of an inshore fishery.

Just wait until you see this amazing fly fishing footage from Cuba put together by Fly Fishing Nation.

These guys had some serious inshore slam hookups!

Even the first 20 seconds where they showed the back-country Cuba mangroves were pretty awesome.

And then after seeing all of the sick tarpon jumps, this had me wanting to head down to Cuba this week.

Pretty amazing fishing.

Enjoy.

Have you ever heard of Alphonse Island?

Most people probably haven’t because it’s a private island in Seychelles that only a very small percentage of Americans ever get to see in their lifetime…

And the place is LOADED with saltwater game fish!

Regardless if you’ve heard of the island or not, after you see this fishing footage from Alphonse, the exclusive island will certainly be on your bucket list.

I mean, check out the little island where they eat lunch every day below!

Also, can you imagine catching a super inshore grand slam topped off with a GT and a billfish or two all in the same day!

Sick!

This Alphonse footage was filmed and edited by Black Fly Eyes, and according to the video this footage below is just the trailer (so there is full-length video coming as well).

We’ll keep you posted when we see it.

Enjoy.
