We have seen Octopus do some pretty crazy things on video.

A couple of months ago we saw an Octopus chase a crab in a deadly attack (watch that video here).

And back in January, we saw an Octopus make a wild escape from a boat (watch that video here).

But this Octopus took it to a whole new level by hiding from predators in a beer bottle. Seems like a great place to me, but I would love to know how this octopus got himself into the bottle in the first place.

I won’t ruin the escape for you, let’s just say this octopus is a beer-loving chameleon.

Happy Sunday Funday!

Every Sunday we will be doing our best to put a smile on your face with a “funny” fishing video. Some will be fishing bloopers, some might be kid’s doing or saying funny things out on the water. And some (like this video below), might not even involve an actual fish…

That’s right this week we have a pretty funny fishing prank that involves nothing more than a kid’s fishing rod, a $20 bill, and some unsuspecting people that are about to get punked.

Related: If you never saw Team Googan catch two slot snook from a kid’s spiderman fishing rod, make sure to watch that here next.

P.S. – If you think your friends would find like this funny fishing prank, please share it with them – I’d really appreciate it.

For those of you that follow us frequently (we thank you big time by the way), you know that we recently posted “The Top 9 Goliath Grouper Videos on the Internet” (you can see all 9 Goliath Grouper videos here).

But what I didn’t know was that I would be handed this unbelievable video of Manny Puig going “Goliath Grouper Noodling” just a week later, as it certainly would have made that  best of the Goliath Grouper video list from last week.

In fact, this might be the one of the most exciting Goliath Grouper videos yet. I will let you be the judge of that though.

If you don’t know who Manny Puig is, he is the wild guy with the long hair that isn’t afraid of any animal, fish, shark, or mammal. He has made appearances on the show (and movie) Jackass, along with many other extreme animal videos as well.

And in this video, Manny free dives down next to a Goliath Grouper, puts his hand all the way in the monster fish’s mouth, and… well I will let you watch and see what happens.

Make sure to pay extra close attention at the end of the video to see what comes out of the Goliath Grouper’s mouth. Unless Manny is a magician and had a crab up his sleeve, that crab just made one of the coolest Goliath Grouper cameos ever.

Back by popular demand, it’s Freshwater Friday!!!

If you missed last week’s Freshwater Friday Viral Fishing Video, it was “What Happens When You Grab Bug Spray Instead of Starter Fluid”. Check it out here next.

This week we have another freshwater fishing gem… apparently this is how they do their hazing at Liberty Universitythe largest Christian university in the world.

Here are the ingredients for successful “Hair Fishing”:

  • Long Hair
  • Small Hook
  • Earthworm
  • College buddies cheering you on while you put your nose to the water and wait for a fish to bite your hair

Enjoy.

Robbie’s of Islamorada (Florida Keys) is THE place to hand-feed tarpon.

And if you never saw the “Slo-mo” tarpon feeding segment from the video “Why Hammerheads Don’t Like Their Picture Taken“, then I highly recommend you check out that video here next. (It was also filmed at Robbie’s of Islamorada).

In this video below, a girl (with wicked chiseled triceps) takes a shot at feeding the tarpon off the dock at Robbie’s… claiming yet another win for Team Tarpon.

BONUS Footage: Make sure to watch this entire video as they added in some “Fish-eye” bonus footage that is pretty cool.

P.S. – If you think your friends would find this video cool, please share it with them – I’d really appreciate it. Pa-PoW!

Ever since we saw the video where the two guys caught the “Tarpon Underwater” (if you never saw that video, it is a must see – watch it here next), I didn’t think we would see another “Fishing Underwater” video anytime soon.

But low and behold, another creative angler has done it again.

This time the angler is using scuba gear…

Can’t believe that fish hit his lure right in front of him!

Either way, pretty funny underwater fishing video, and very entertaining. And if you ever wanted to know if fishing underwater was possible, now you know… and knowing is half the battle.

P.S. – If you think your angler friends would like to see this video, please share it with them – I’d really appreciate it

I have seen a lot of snook honey holes along with a bunch of amazing snook lights in my day, and I am pretty certain that this is the most snook I have ever seen in one place… And certainly the most snook on video.

Notice in the video below that this snook school keeps on going (even outside of the lighted area) as he pans around with his camera phone. And the snook are on a few different depth levels as well.

Talk about the Ultimate Snook School!

Sadly, I don’t think the Snook are as abundant in Florida (like they used to be in this video) since the big freeze a few years back. However, it is certainly getting better every year.

And if someone does have any footage of snook schools that are bigger than this, then please forward it over as I would love to see it.

My only problem with this video is “Why Isn’t Anyone Fishing!!!”

This snook frenzy footage was captured by Tom Gidus a few years ago at the Square Grouper, Castaways Marina, which is in Jupiter, FL (near the sighting of the most recent great white shark encounter – see that video here).

Enjoy this amazing snook footage, and please forward it on to someone you know that loves Snook. Thank you.

This paddleboarder’s famous last words…

“It’s going to be real interesting when this thing gets up to the surface…”

Yep, we couldn’t agree more. Which is why you will only see me catching inshore catching snook, redfish, and trout from a paddleboard.

And for those of you that have never tried paddle-boarding before, know that it isn’t that easy to paddle board out in the ocean without losing a little balance every once in a while, let alone fight a big thresher shark (probably why this paddleboarder sat down a few times).

But he does stand up on his Hobie paddleboard a few times while fighting this shark, so color me impressed.

Note: The paddleboarder in the video is Jared Lane, of Fastlane Sailing Center. He is using a Hobie SUP, and this footage was near La Jolla, CA.

Jared, you are certainly Salt Strong my friend.

This new video from BlacktipH (featuring Captain Ben Chancey from Chew on This) is proof that Florida is the Fishing Capital of the World.

In one afternoon, the fishing duo goes from catching MONSTER Jacks, to Tarpon, to Goliath Grouper, and even take a few stabs at catching Snook.

I can’t imagine a better day on the water (unless you throw in a few redfish), so kudos to BlackipH on another great video.

P.S. – Did anyone else notice the awesome hat Captain Ben Chancey was wearing? #saltstrong
