We came across this amazing video of Meredith McCord catching two fish on two different fly rods with the Casting Tails team, and we couldn’t wait to post it.

At one point, she even has one of the fly rods (with a fish on) in between her legs while she hooks the second one.

And all while looking incredibly sporty in her tennis/fishing skirt.

Well done Meredith!

Awesome fly fishing video!

Note: This was all filmed in the Upper Texas Coast

This has to be one of the most amazing saltwater videos we have seen this year!

Not only does this incredibly smart dolphin capture over six redfish in less than a foot of water (over a sharp oyster bed might I add), but she then teaches each of her dolphin calves how to catch redfish as well.

And then they go repeat what they just saw their smart dolphin mom do by capturing more redfish for dinner.

In the dolphin world, they call this pinwheeling.

I have to be honest, we didn’t anticipate coming across a video that had a chance of going more viral than the video “Dolphin Captures Snook of Film“, but this one blows that video away.

Incredible footage and an excellent job of narrating Captain Chad!

Don’t forget to share this if you found it as amazing as we did.

Enjoy.

Is there anything better than seeing a redfish coming out of the water and hitting a topwater plug, fly, or popper in less than two feet of water?

I think not.

And if you agree, then you will absolutely love seeing this sight fishing redfish video below (even if you aren’t a fly angler).

Countless redfish attacks, some up close shots of the reds smacking the fly, and even some shots of the landed fish towards the end.

Great job Capt. Kyle Staton, Capt. Rhett Gehring, and Bryan Daniels on the fly footage.

Enjoy.

Ever heard of a Redfish Machine Gun?

Until I saw this video, I had never heard of one either.

But apparently they are brutally strong, accurate, and fun to shoot.

And if you have a fishing buddy that is annoying you, it is a great way to knock them in the water. Haha.

The guys from Badfish looked like they had a great time filming this footage of some flood tide fly fishing around Jacksonville Beach, FL.

Great job gents.

The only thing better than a redfish hitting a topwater plug is having a redfish keep hitting your topwater until it is hooked.

And the only thing better than that is having it follow your plug all the way up to the boat and do the final strike just feet in front of you!

Awesome stuff!

I wish more redfish acted like this!

Here are the notes from angler Chase Chauvin:

A buddy and I found some super clear water while sight fishing for reds so I tied on a top water plug and turned the camera on but never thought we’d capture this! This pond was stacked up with redfish and this particular one swam up on the bait and managed to hook himself in the back so I gave a light tug pulling one of the treble hooks out. All while he is searching for my lure! Once he spotted it he came right back for it, this time inhaling it!

Great job guys!

Nothing like seeing a redfish come up and CRUSH a topwater plug!

Especially when the water conditions are perfect like they are in this video below by Trey Mikell.

If you missed Trey’s earlier video called, “If This Topwater Redfish Action Doesn’t Excite You, Then Nothing Will” (you can watch it here)

This guy has certainly mastered the art of catching redfish on topwater lures.

I can only imagine his entire tacklebox is full of his favorite topwater plugs.

Well done Trey.

Keep the videos coming.

Here at Salt Strong, we come across a TON of fishing videos…

Some are good, some are great, and some are nothing short of amazing.

Well, this video below from Dustin Dykes and Savage Charters (with Capt. Chris Law) fits in the amazing bucket.

As you will see below, it is nothing short of every inshore angler’s dream… to see and catch tons of inshore fish. And they didn’t just capture one species on film… their drone footage captured just about every inshore Florida fish imaginable.

In fact, the worst part of this video was all of the time it took me to agree on a headline for the post. There was just so much over the top footage that I couldn’t decide on what to focus on!

For instance, in this amazing Boca Grande video, you’ll get:

  • A bird’s eye view of how many fish (and how they move) on a Florida grass flat
  • What happens when a shark comes up to a school of tarpon (the drone footage of this is epic)
  • And a whole lot more!

If this doesn’t make you want to fish Boca Grande, then nothing will.

Enjoy!

If you’ve ever been fishing for redfish, you know that some days they won’t touch any lure or live bait you throw at them, while other days they will hit just about anything…

This is one of those latter days…

Two things about this video on catching a redfish with a set of pliers:

  1. You are going to want to see this guy catching a redfish on a set of pliers!
  2. You are going to want to share this one with your friends as they certainly won’t believe it unless they see it!

Here is what went down in Boca Grande, FL…

  • Captain Justin Moore and Ben Guth were out fishing for redfish in Boca Grande.
  • They were catching redfish after redfish on live bait and topwater plugs.
  • So a bet was made…
  • Could they catch a redfish by casting out a set of Hemostat Pliers?
  • They did what any curious and competitive angler would do in that situation…
  • They attached a hook to the pliers and wasted no time in testing them out as bait…
  • And on the second cast, Ben lands a nice redfish on the pliers!!!

Amazing job gents.

And we agree, you might want to patent that lure Captain Justin Moore and Ben!

Everyone always says that there is nothing like fishing for redfish in Louisiana, but they never mentioned Bigfoot.

If you haven’t seen this “Sasquatch” in fishing videos before, it’s the guys behind Lateral Line Media that always seem to find some creative way to get the Squatch (aka Jeff) in a few shots.

In this video, they are out fishing near New Orleans with Al Keller of NOLA Guides going after redfish during last year’s “Polar Vortex…”

Some amazing footage of our beloved redfish during a cold front.

Great job guys.

Enjoy.
