Whenever I get a message from FlatsHQ founder Shelby Ramsey with the words “video” and “Dan Decibel” in the first sentence I know it is going to be good…
Why?
Because every time he and Dan Decibel (you can see all of Dan’s videos that have made the Salt Strong Viral Video section here) get together on a boat to film a video, magic happens (and they get pictures like this)
In the case of the video below, Shelby says that when his alarm went off at 4:30 that morning he wife told him to cancel the trip because it was cold, windy, and pouring down rain.
But cancelling was not an option because they had already invested too much into getting this video done…
Thankfully they did, because Shelby, Dan, and Capt. John Stark had an epic day down in the Everglades (despite the cold weather) and caught loads of redfish and snook.
Check out their awesome video below.
Enjoy.

Tailing, backing, and stalking redfish in super shallow water is pretty tough to beat…
And there is no better time to do it than during the cooler winter months of the redfish “Shallow Season” when many redfish head back in some super skinny water…
As the guy in the video says, “This kind of fishing for redfish is about as close as you can get to hunting without a gun…”
Flyfishing for Reds In The shallows is addictive, and this video shows why. The fish are so shallow the guy has to get out of the boat.
Epic footage and even better camera work.

The last time that UCF Knights Fishing Club President Ryan Hullilan sent me a video, I was not disappointed (if you never saw the original UCF fishing video, click here to see it now)
So the other day when I saw his name in my inbox again, I quickly opened it up to see a brand spanking new video called, “Mooseville”.
Why Mooseville?
Well, probably because the entire video is these guys catching Monster Moose Reds like these!
Oh by the way, you also get to see some footage of a 40-inch redfish so hungry it hits a lure that already has a trout on it.
TWICE!
Epic.
Ryan, Eddie Twyford (the video editor/angler/VP of the UCF fishing club), and the rest of the UCF fishing crew nailed it on this one.
And after watching this, I guess I can’t blame you guys for heading east from Orlando (although there is some great inshore fishing over here on the west coast as well).
Either way, keep up the great work UCF!

There are redfish videos, and then there are over the top freaking awesome redfish videos…
And this latest masterpiece by our friends over at Catch 1 Filmscertainly fits in the freaking awesome redfish video category.
In fact, this video is like watching a mini-movie.
Amazing from start to finish!
Heck, even the aerial footage during the credits at the end are worth sticking around for.
If you ever want to land some redfish like this, then look up Southern Fly Expeditions there in Lousiana (they are anglers that helped make this video possible with Catch 1 Films).
The anglers in this Louisiana redfish video are as follows:
Well, our friend Patrick Rhea of LivitFilms has done it again…
He nailed another amazing inshore fishing video (if you didn’t know, Patrick and his uncle Nick Shirghio were the ones who filmed the 2015 Saltwater Fishing Music Video of the Year, “Fishing In Our Soul”)
But this time he was out there with our friends over at Avid Charters(along with two pro surfers).
The two surfers that ditched their boards for the day to take a shot at some nice redfish and snook are Smith Optics pro surfers CJ Hobgood and Brett Barley.
I can only imagine after seeing that sick mullet run action, those two surfers will be back for more…
The captain in the video is our friend Capt. Rob Rohmann of Avid Charters over on the east coast of Florida.
Check out the amazing footage they captured fishing from Jupiter to Sebastian Inlet.
A few weeks back, Strong Angler Trey Mikell and his girlfriend Madisen Griffis published some topwater redfish footage that went a bit viral in our private Facebook group called “The Salt Strong Fishing Tribe” (click here to ask permission to join).
So when I came across some of Trey’s amazing redfish footage on YouTube, I knew that I had to share it with all of you.
For those of you that love catching redfish as much as I do, you know that it doesn’t get any better than seeing a big red come up and slam a topwater lure.
In fact, just watching this video has me wanting to skip work and hit the water today (yes, just because I am president of a saltwater fishing company doesn’t mean that I get to fish every day…)
Check this great footage out below.
Keep up the great work Trey and Madisen! You guys are certainly looking Salt Strong!

If you are an inshore angler, you are going to love this story…
It all started with a desire of one man to explore new fishing grounds and catch bigger fish.
Tony Acevedo, an Orlando area bass angler, was many miles from the nearest body of saltwater, yet he was determined to learn how to catch redfish, snook, and trout over on the east coast back in mid-2015…
So he hung up his bass fishing gear and started fishing the flats after purchasing his first kayak.
And it all started with Tony studying my brother Luke’s inshore fishing system…
If you have met my brother Luke, you know that he is WAY too modest and humble to ever toot his own horn… but that doesn’t mean that I won’t…
In one sentence, Luke is one of the most consistent inshore anglers in the state of Florida.
Period.
He has gone up against pro guides and won money in tournaments, he’ll go to brand new areas and outfish most locals, and he has what many call a “Fish Whisperer” trait that has come from decades of patiently studying fish (Luke was the kid in junior high and high school that woke up 2 hours early to go fishing almost every morning at 5:30am).
He even caught a snook from a 3rd-floor balcony (you can see that video hereif you missed it).
And he makes anglers like me look really good (I catch a significant amount of fish every year just by being in the same boat with him and imitating what he is doing).
So back to the story at hand…
This inshore angler that we have featured below is Tony Acevedo, and he had never been inshore fishing as of March of 2015.
And then he applied what he learned to out-fish many inshore anglers that have been doing it for over a decade…
Just check out Tony’s fishing card to see the fish he has been catching every month (hint: lots of grand slams – and this covers just a fraction of his catches over a short period of time).
Big kudos to you Tony.
Guys like you make it all worth it for Luke to spend as much time as he does teaching fishing.
Keep up the great work buddy!
You make us all very proud.
