It’s lobster season time!!!

If you have ever been lobstering for spiny lobster in Florida, you probably know that mini lobster season (which is the frontrunner to the full Florida lobster season) is one of the craziest times down in the Florida Keys.

People are everywhere, and if you don’t know how to find and catch lobster, then you will most likely get left behind and go home not hitting your limit.

And while we were down here in Islamorada (for the first week of lobster season), we had a few “newbies” ask us about how to properly net a lobster.

So we wanted to share some of our lobster footage from the where Luke nets 6 different lobster in 6 different ways.

Hope you enjoy, and hope you limit out with some tasty bugs!

Of course, one of the other ways to catch lobster is to grab them with your hands. Just be prepared to hang on and get a hand around the full lobster as soon as you can.

Enjoy.

WARNING: If you have ever been lobstering in Florida before, then this video is going to give you goosebumps…

(And make sure to stick around for the full video as the amount of lobster get thicker and thicker as it goes on)

Can you imagine going scouting for lobster holes and coming across this spiny lobster spot!

And if you aren’t an avid lobster hunter, then here is why this lobster video is so amazing.

Usually, when lobstering in the Florida Keys, you find lobster that are trying to protect themselves behind or under structure like rocks, coral, sunken ships, etc.

And Florida spiny lobster usually aren’t in packs of 100 either…

But as you will see in this video, the lobster are so thick in this area, that they ran out of places to hide.

They are just sitting on the sandy bed waiting to get plucked!

According to the video’s owner, this was in Islamorada, Florida during the 2014 Lobster Mini-Season.

Enjoy!

Have you heard of the show “Silver Kings” yet?

If not, you’re about to!

Last month I posted a Tarpon trailer that went somewhat viral on our site called, “The South Florida Tarpon Trailer That Will Leave You With Goosebumps” (you can watch it here).

It was the Season 2 Trailer for the show…

And while I was doing some searching for tarpon videos yesterday, I came across the “Silver Kings” trailer for Season 1.

Curiosity got the best of me, and there I was last night… in front of my computer watching another tarpon video that gave me goosebumps and a burning desire to head back down to Islamorada…

Check out this amazing tarpon trailer, and don’t forget to check out the full-length “Silver Kings” TV shows that start up again in January 2016.

For more information about the show, the two featured tarpon guides (Capt. Bou Bosso and Capt. Rob Fordyce), and more, check our the main Silver Kings website here.

Patrick Rhea of LivitFilms and his drone flying stud partner Nick Shirghio have done it again!

They have somehow produced back to back saltwater inshore fishing video masterpieces that certainly land each of the videos up in the rankings of top inshore fishing videos of all time.

After coming off a Grand Slam hit video called, “Fishing in our Soul” with Jill’s Cashbox featuring Salt Strong (in our humble opinion the best saltwater inshore video of all time), Patrick and Nick Shirghio hit another home run with Eleven Angling: Bluemoon Expeditions out of Islamorada, Florida with their fly fishing video at the bottom of this page.

Just wait until you see the tarpon footage! Amazing.

If you have even been fishing while cameras are rolling, you know that it rarely turns out like this with Tarpon hitting your fly just feet away from the camera and boat. Amazing job!

Enjoy!

Robbie’s of Islamorada (Florida Keys) is THE place to hand-feed tarpon.

And if you never saw the “Slo-mo” tarpon feeding segment from the video “Why Hammerheads Don’t Like Their Picture Taken“, then I highly recommend you check out that video here next. (It was also filmed at Robbie’s of Islamorada).

In this video below, a girl (with wicked chiseled triceps) takes a shot at feeding the tarpon off the dock at Robbie’s… claiming yet another win for Team Tarpon.

BONUS Footage: Make sure to watch this entire video as they added in some “Fish-eye” bonus footage that is pretty cool.

P.S. – If you think your friends would find this video cool, please share it with them – I’d really appreciate it. Pa-PoW!

As we learned in the VIRAL fishing video called “Helpless Tarpon Rescued by Dead Jack Decoy in the Florida Keys” (watch it here), you never know what you are going to catch or encounter while fishing in the FL Keys!

In this video below, Jersey Justin heads out fishing in Islamorada (Florida Keys) with Capt. Ron Brack, and the last thing they thought they would catch that day is an endangered Sawfish!

And if you are wondering why you don’t see many sawfish videos, it’s because these sawfish are incredibly rare, they are endangered, and it is illegal to fish for them. Of course, if you accidentally hook a sawfish like these guys did, all you can do it try to get it safely released as quickly as possible.

It was great to see that Capt. Ron put in the extra effort to unwrap the line from its bill and release this endangered sawfish safely… certainly a Salt Strong move!
