I’ve been holding on to this video for quite some time, just waiting for the right moment to post it…

If you recall back on June 23rd I posted a video with the title, “The Biggest School of Redfish Ever Caught on Film?” (watch it here if you never saw it).

And at the end of the video, I asked the amazing Salt Strong audience to send me any redfish footage that can beat it.

I received a couple that either beat it or were really close (sorry, but I didn’t have time to literally count all of the redfish), and I posted them shortly after the “Biggest School of Redfish” video.

Here they are:

  1. “Wait til’ You See Why This Guy Is Screaming Holy Redfish!” (watch it here)
  2. “How Would You Like To Run Into This School Of Redfish?” (watch it here)

And then I received this video below…

It didn’t beat the redfish count (although it was certainly close), but it stuck out because of the bad to bone music that got me all fired up. In fact, I would be willing to be that it will have you humming one of the two tunes for the rest of the day.

And they even catch a nice cobia (from what looked like off of a whale), along with a crazy school of redfish.

I honestly can’t recall if Capt. Brad Sperling of the “Brassy Hooker” sent in the video, or if it was angler Mark Galloway, but either way, awesome job gents!

Salt Strong material for sure!

P.P.S. – About halfway through they get some awesome underwater footage of the massive school of redfish.

Captain Marty Starling of Orange Beach, Alabama is the man!

Not only is he one heck of a fisherman, but he is a downright hilarious commentator.

Somebody get this captain on a fishing show because I will watch it!

Here is one of my favorite lines from the video:

“Only one person hooked a fish, out of all of that!”

Fill in the blanks in the comment section on Marty’s fishing line from the video (at the 1:18 mark):

“You all need to try _______________”

Well, whatever Capt. Marty said to his clients worked, as the next scene they are all hooked up on big redfish.

Make sure to check out Salty Dog Fishing Charters if you are ever near Orange Beach, AL.

Let’s face it, all fishing can be pretty addictive…

There is always that “next fish”… there is always the “new record”… there is always “the one that got away”… and there is always the pursuit of feeling (and hearing) the line rip out of your reel…

For some of us, we love conventional saltwater fishing using spinning reels and bait casters.

While others, prefer nothing but a fly rod in their hand.

So why is that some anglers are so obsessed with fly fishing?

Well, our friends Patrick Rhea and Nick Shirghio of LivitFilms just released this latest fly fishing masterpiece called, “Connection” that pretty much sums up the “connection” fly anglers have with their beloved sport.

Check out this awesome video below!

Did you ever see the hit movie, “Old School” with Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, and Luke Wilson?

In the hilarious comedy, there is a “funeral scene” where Will Ferrell sings (or more like butchers) the song “Dust In The Wind” after one of their oldest pledge brothers “Blue” passes away after an extreme KY wrestling match…

Well, the Salt Strong brothers saw an opportunity to not only have some fun recreating a funny fishing video, but to also raise a little bit of awareness to using Circle Hooks over J-hooks.

WARNING: You will probably want to watch this video more than once.

Note: You wouldn’t believe how many takes we had to do as we couldn’t stop laughing when our boy Richard hit the high notes.

Also, the original video from the movie “Old School” is below in case you never saw the movie.

Redfish Strong!

Check out this awesome skinny water redfish video from Chris Lewis of Skinny Water Culture.

In the video below, Chris is out fly fishing on his SUP (Stand up paddleboard for the layperson), and comes across a small school of redfish back in the skinny water of the Everglades.

Loved seeing the redfish take off leaving the mud dust trail behind.

Nice red, nice music, and nice video Chris!

Patrick Rhea of LivitFilms and his drone flying stud partner Nick Shirghio have done it again!

They have somehow produced back to back saltwater inshore fishing video masterpieces that certainly land each of the videos up in the rankings of top inshore fishing videos of all time.

After coming off a Grand Slam hit video called, “Fishing in our Soul” with Jill’s Cashbox featuring Salt Strong (in our humble opinion the best saltwater inshore video of all time), Patrick and Nick Shirghio hit another home run with Eleven Angling: Bluemoon Expeditions out of Islamorada, Florida with their fly fishing video at the bottom of this page.

Just wait until you see the tarpon footage! Amazing.

Next, make sure to check out Patrick and Nick’s other over the top video in the last 30 days below.

If you have even been fishing while cameras are rolling, you know that it rarely turns out like this with Tarpon hitting your fly just feet away from the camera and boat. Amazing job!

Enjoy!

Did I shock you by switching out my standard “Pa-POW” with a “BOOM”?

Hope so, because this amazing redfish video deserves a big ol’ bang.

I can’t wait for you to see the drone footage and the underwater footage where you get to see the grass flats from the redfish’s perspective.

Pretty sick!

This AFTCO redfish video was done in part with Yeti Coolers and Shimano Fishing, and this is just one of their 4-part short video series filmed by Jason Arnold and edited by Bradford Graham.

The Florida captain in the video is AFTCO Pro Capt. Alonzo Sotillo.

Amazing job AFTCO and team!

This will make anyone want to go out and catch some redfish this week.

Enjoy.

Sorry gents, but after you watch this video, you are forever going to be wondering how you can replace your fishing partner with a great looking girl that can probably also cast better than your current partner…

Heck, I know that I will never be able to look at my brother Luke on the boat without wondering how I can trade him in (haha).

But in all seriousness, this video below is a top-notch fly fishing video produced by Catch 1 Films that features female fly angler Rebecca Courtney catching a couple of small inshore fish in a short fly session.

Regardless of the size of the fish, amazing video. Well done Catch 1 Films and Rebecca Courtney!

And is it just me, or does she kind of look like Katie Holmes? I would have actually watched Dawson’s Creek if it had been more like this video. Perhaps it would have been called “Dawson’s Skinny Water Lagoon”

Fish On.

Probably the best Bull Redfish on topwater footage we have ever seen here at Salt Strong so far (and we have seen a ton of redfish footage).

And just a warning, you might find yourself moving your head up and down dancing to this song and video from the get go…

In this amazing redfish footage, these big reds are exploding on topwater flies in shallow water. The up close and personal footage of these fish is truly art, so big props to both the anglers and the videographers.

The majority of the video is just the strike, and then they show all the fish caught at the end so stay tuned for the full video.

This video describes with no words why so many love to sight fish… these guys are my new heroes.
