Salt Strong Meetups: A New Way To Fish & Connect

Ever have a free Saturday morning and think…
“Man, I wish I had somebody to go fishing with.”
Or maybe you want to get a crew together for a boat ramp cleanup.
Or grab breakfast with some local anglers and argue about which lure color is actually the best.
Well, now there’s an easy way to make it happen.
Salt Strong Meetups are officially here (Insiders Only)!
Meetups make it easier than ever to find other Salt Strong Insiders nearby, get together in person, hit the water, give back, and make some new fishing buddies along the way.
What Are Salt Strong Meetups?
The goal is simple:
Make it easy for Salt Strong members to connect in real life.
Members can create fishing trips, conservation events, and community hangouts, while Salt Strong Chapter Presidents can also organize official Chapter Meetings.
Instead of posting, “Anybody want to fish this weekend?” and hoping the right person sees it, you can create a Meetup with the time, place, and details all in one spot.
What Types Of Meetups Can You Create?
There are four types of Meetups, and each is color-coded so you can quickly see what’s happening around you.
Fishing Meetups: BLUE
Want to get on the water with other members?
Create a Fishing Meetup for a boat, kayak, shoreline, or pier fishing trip. You could even organize a charter or simply meet some buddies at the ramp.
Conservation Meetups: GREEN
Conservation Meetups make it easy to rally members around giving back to the fisheries we all love.
That could mean a shoreline or boat ramp cleanup, fish-release event, seagrass planting, habitat restoration, or another local conservation project.
Chapter Meetings: BLACK
Salt Strong Chapter Presidents can create official Chapter Meetings, giving local members an easy way to see when and where their chapter is getting together.
Community Hangouts: ORANGE
Not everything has to involve fishing!
Grab coffee. Meet for breakfast. Get dinner or drinks.
Community Hangouts are simply another way to turn connections inside the Salt Strong Community into real-world friendships.
How Do You Find Meetups Near You?
Upcoming Meetups can be found right inside the Salt Strong Community, including a Meetups Near You section.
Head to the dedicated Meetups page, and you can also filter by distance, date, or Meetup type.
Want to see what’s happening around you?
Browse using the list, interactive map, or calendar view to find something that works for your schedule and location.
How Do You Create A Meetup?
We made this part EASY.
Select Host Meetup, choose your Meetup type, and add the important details like the date, time, location, and description.
You can move the map pin to show exactly where everyone should meet and add an image and any instructions members should know.
You can also:
- Make the Meetup public or private
- Limit the number of attendees
- Add a co-host to help manage it
Once everything looks good, publish it and you’re ready to go!

Keeping Everyone On The Same Page
Once your Meetup is live, members can see the location, time, details, and who else is attending.
They can RSVP and communicate directly on the Meetup page.
Hosts can also send updates to members who have RSVP’d, making it easy to share reminders or last-minute changes without hunting everyone down individually.
More Than Just Another Event Calendar
Meetups are really about one thing:
Getting Salt Strong members together.
Maybe you find a new fishing buddy.
Maybe a group of members cleans up your local boat ramp.
Maybe you attend your first Chapter Meeting.
Or maybe you grab breakfast with a few anglers and make some great new friends.
You have the idea. Now you have a way to make it happen.

Way to think outside the box. As I have gotten older, only 61, I continue to see how important connectedness is in everything one does. The more connected you feel, the better you feel. This is a great idea and a way to build a camaraderie with other anglers. We all bring things to the table and can learn from each other. I applaud you all!

Well even though I do consider myself a social type guy i don’t actually have any friends human that is except my dog every person that has ever seemed to play the role of wanting to be my friend has ALWAYS betrayed me and shown there true intentions so now my trust in people is gone I talk to people on a regular basis but that doesn’t mean I trust them or want to be friends with them and when it comes to fishing im kinda selfish in that I LOVE fishing by myself and my beautiful faithful loving dog EMMA because I would fear about showing my fishing areas to others then they spread the word and now im left with an area that’s being fished out no not for this baby boomer I don’t do meet ups or have anything to do with social media platforms other then saltstrong where I talk about my techniques and strategies but I never give away my exact locations but thats me i do quite well on my own but thanks for the info and all you do🤔😉👍

Yea I know you you were the guy who invited me to the jax chap saltstrong group meetups well my mind has still not changed on that subject plus the fact to me there are way to many anglers now in jax a heck of alot more fishing pressure that I care to like but thats just another reason I fish at night no one to steal my thoughts in going to my areas because they all love to fish during the hot times well good for them because me and my pup will take g he cool secluded nights anytime over the crowded hot days and as before thanks but no thanks but also thanks for the reply

You know it buddy because digs will never tell others where your areas are so that its now to over crowded and everyone knows about it to me some things should just be kept to ines self like ones own fishing spots unless you like crowds which obviously you can tell I absolutely donot thanks for the reply
