Tackle Testers Program Details & Info
Here’s how it works:
- We’ll send you an email every month letting you know what free tackle we need you to test out
- You get to decide if you want the free tackle or not
- If you want the free tackle, you only have to cover the small shipping charge (usually just a few bucks)
- The tackle arrives at your house, you fish with it, and let us know what you think
- Rinse and repeat every month
Note: The tackle testing offer will be once per month and it is first come, first serve.
Also – ONLY Insider Members are eligible to participate/be Tackle Testers.
If you’re an Insider Club members, all you need to do is keep an eye out for our email announcement about the Tackle Tester offer (this typically goes out in the 2nd or 3rd week of each month).
If you’re not a member and want to take part in the Tackle Tester Program, then you need to join the Insider Club today.

Did this way back with international fishing club was really good .then they went under and quit was a life member! Love to do it again..
Tried out the FRED Mulligan compared to Slam Shady. Both worked equally well at Dauphin Island for redfish.
Y’all doing a great job. Keep up the good work.
The skinny lipper jr behaves much the same as the bigger one. I’ll have an opportunity to try it for 7 days starting next week. Will report back with details.
I’ve been fishing with both the Skinny Lipper XL and the Skinny Lipper Jr, and they’ve quickly become two of my favorite lures. I’ve tried out different retrieve techniques and even picked up the “twitch, twitch, pause, twitch” style from Salt Strong’s YouTube videos. It’s been paying off—I’ve already landed two small trout on the SL Jr. and caught a sand trout and a croaker on the SL XL. These lures are just plain fun to work. I was so impressed that I jumped on one of the recent bundle deals, and now I can’t wait to get out there and put all the new gear to use!
I was finally able to get out and test the skinny lipper jr. from the straight retrieve to the twitch and pause it performed well. Extremely impressive hookups when it was slammed. I didn’t have any issues with it at all. The hook size to the size of the lure itself couldn’t be better. Perfect match. Yes I only caught 3 slots (2 reds and 1 spec) the rest were undersized, not by much though just by half an inch if not less. Each time they hit it I was hooked up. Can’t wait to test out the next lure/lures, especially the new color mix.
Thanks for making time to post the feedback you found while trying out this lure. So glad to see that you’re enjoying it.
Received the skinny lipper as part of the tackle tester program. Was initially disappointed as there was very little action on a straight retrieve. Then things came to life with just a slight twitch. Very happy and likely to buy more.
How would I go about getting you a rig to be tested?
I’m a disabled person who loves fishing but can’t afford new tackle. Looking for dicount s or any way to make it affordable
