Salt Strong Retail Store Announcement (“Theme Park” Update)

I’ve got some exciting news, and some bittersweet news to share…
Let’s start with the bittersweet…
We’re ending our lease and closing down our physical tackle store location in Winter Haven at the end of this week (to support our next big move).
This was not an easy decision, but certainly the right move for the future growth of the Salt Strong Insider Club.
To put things into perspective:
- 98% of all Salt Strong/Fish Strong tackle sales are online (so the retail store accounted for less than 2% of all tackle sales)
- Ever since we moved shipping/fulfillment to the third-party fulfillment group, Salt Strong has been losing approximately $5,000 per month to keep the store open… as much as we love our landlord, it just doesn’t make financial sense to continue to lease this property and retail space
So this Friday, Aug 1st, will be the last day to come by the shop. There are a few items left, but most inventory is with our 3rd party fulfillment center now.
For the exciting news…
This move opens up the door for the fishing theme park property…

This place has meant a lot to us.
But the truth is, once we moved our shipping over to a 3rd-party fulfillment center (which has been AMAZING, by the way), it just didn’t make financial sense to keep the storefront open. We were losing over $5,000 a month—and we realized it was time for a change.
But here’s the exciting part…
We’ve had a big dream since the early days of Salt Strong: a massive, family-focused, fishing-themed property.
We’re not making any big promises just yet, but we do have a property in mind and we’re praying that everything continues lining up. 🙏
If you’re a Founders Club member — THANK YOU. This is not the end. It’s a new beginning.
That board with your name on it? We’re holding on to it. Our plan is to bring it to the new place when the time comes and celebrate in style.
In the meantime, nothing is changing with the online tackle store. In fact, shipping is faster than ever.
If you’re in the Winter Haven area and want to stop by before we shut it down for good, we’ll be clearing everything out this week.

3rd party fulfillment group seems like a very logical choice to aid in improving shipping and pursuing future endeavors. Can you share what brought this change to fruition?
A fishing themed park?? I’d think I died and went to my own personal idea of heaven.. Hope you guys can do it someday..hope I’m here to see it..

Stopped by the store a few times in the past years. Even if I stopped in when they were closed I was always greeted warmly. Cant wait to see what you Guys come up with next.
Best wishes on the new venture. My wife and I actually drove from Tampa to Lakeland while on vacation to go to the retail store before it even opened and wound up at your fulfillment facility downtown. They were surprised to see us, but we were very warmly received by the fulfillment team. Have a great week!
Oh well, we are heading to Florida in September and was planning a trip to the store. Good luck with the park. Hopefully you can get the property you are looking into. Sounds exciting.
