This Is The Best Catch Log I’ve Ever Used

The ability to know the feeding trends of fish is the biggest factor that separates those who catch their target fish every trip and those who struggle to get bites.

This video highlights a way to get valuable insights from your past catches with minimal effort.

Best of all, it gets better and better over time as more data gets added to it.

Here’s a video showing how it works:

Note: To see your catch log, just go to Layers, and then select the “My Waypoints” filter.

Leave a comment below if you have any questions or ideas on additional catch log filters we should add to the system.

The Smart Spots app is an amazing tool. And I love the ability to upload pics to create a catch log. Is there a setting that I need to turn on to have weather/tide/moon info associated with my catches? The date/time and location are accurate based on the metadata from the pic, but the log doesn’t show any weather/tide/moon info for my catches? Thanks!

Is there a way to post to community without it adding to the catch log? I like to upload all my pics via Import Catch Log and later post highlights to community. But that ends up showing the same catch twice in SFS and I have to delete the dups in SFS.

Thanks for highlighting what I’m sure will be an extremely useful tool in the app. From your post it seems easy enough that someone as tech challenged as I am will be able to use it!

Been using this for awhile now and it’s a really neat and helpful part of the app. If Luke’s saying there’s more to come on this area of the app, I cannot wait to see what else the SS team has thought to do with it.

thxs for the walk thru, didn’t realize the capability available, will now force me to take pictures (I never or rarely ) but the benefit of the app analysis is to rich to ignore. I previously used my navigation waypoints menu to do this which resulted in screen chaos.

I will admit past trips and experiences can and do help decern how to fish certain areas by studying past trips you can develop a pattern faster with alot of the guess work eliminated that is of coarse if the same conditions pretty much match the current conditions your about to fish and I have found that the smart spots app is very good at making an accurate fish log and I always review my past logs to get a better feel for the day im about to fish I guess its kinda like school what’s the sence in going to school if a student does not use the info being taught in daily working and life situations?🤔 thanks for the valuable useable intell and all you do😉👍
