How DocksLocks Rod and Reel Locks Work

The locks are simple to install and effective.
- An aluminum clip installs around your rod’s reel seat threads—no tools needed.
- You run a locking cable through the hole in the back of the lock and around your grab bar, T-top frame, steering wheel, or even tie-down rings in the bed of your truck.
- The clip release lever seats inside the cable hole, making it impossible to loosen while the cable is present.
- You can use any locking cable that fits through the hole, such as a bike lock, or grab the one DocksLocks built specifically to go with the system.
Conclusion
Even though DocksLocks Rod and Reel Locks are a little pricey, they start to make sense to secure your nicer combos in your boat or truck.
Plus, with two sizes available, you can ensure both your inshore and offshore rods are safe from thieves.
So, if you want to reduce the stress that comes from worrying about your rods and reels being stolen and you want to support a business based right here in Central Florida, DocksLocks has you covered.

That makes sense. I really don’t feel like having my rods stolen especially if I am off shore fishing. those rods cost a fortune.
Think this would thwart the opportunistic snatch and grab thief. Like Rob, pretty sure it wouldn’t dissuade the more serious one traveling with bolt cutters. Nice product though and it has it’s time and place to be used.
I believe this DocksLocks serves as a theft deterrence in some situations. Short stops or if stuck in traffic as many rods & reels will be quickly grabbed with a thief running away. Typically, thieves like this are wanting to blend in, and not carrying bolt cutters.
Do your due diligence. Read through the critical reviews on Amazon . . . https://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B0733BBJZ7.
In the critical reviews, a recurring complaint is the cable detached from the lock, and the cable can be easily cut. The manufacturer’s website might reveal what warranty applies to this product but not readily found. The smaller ring mechanism weighs roughly one ounce for anyone who doesn’t plan to take it off each time they fish.
very cool product. I will be purchasing
Well all I know is anytime my boat with all my tackle is by itself in plain view I am ALWAYS within only about 25 ft from it and always keep my eye on it always the problem with anglers today that get alot of there tackle and or boat stolen is alot of them love to show it off and want people to look at it just for the attention think about it that’s what the world craves and wants most why do you think social media platforms are so popular? Because people love the attention that’s why so they also love to show off what they have by playing loud music or a loud truck or car well unfortunatly for them thieves also notice people like that because they are easy targets but guys like me who are the exact opposite that don’t want or care about any attention what so ever we are more careful and are always on the alert so you see Luke it’s kinda like the old saying if you show it they will come well I don’t never ever had a problem in all my 20 plus years inshore fishing or my total 55 plus years of fishing both fresh and saltwater with thieves also kinda like what my dad always used to say if you look for trouble it will find you well I certainly don’t look for any I mind my own buissness and am always aware of my surroundings whether it be driving or fishing I don’t take chances period thanks for the info though and all you do😉🤔
