Thanks. I have used the feature but have not been able to get it to include the location accurately based on the uploaded picture information or even when used live. Can you help?
You’re welcome Mike! It may be a setting on your phone. Go to your settings and make sure location services are allowed for the camera.
Do you need to be internet connected to use this? Would love to be able to use this offshore.
Hey Bruce! Yes you do have to have service for it to pull data for the species info.
Good video Tony. It shows that we usually use our technology to 10-20% of it’s capacity (including cell phones, Laptops, etc). This will be a great tool to identify a fish, which takes precious time, especially if you are near shore on a reef where you “never know”
I am in the Lowcountry of SC, so I can’t wait for this hurricane to pass so I can field test it.
Question: You spent a lot of time showing the different functions on the computer edition (location, tide, date, etc. All good stuff. Does the phone app have the same functions?
Cheers, Tight Lines, and bent poles………..and I have to add Eyes Wide Open with this weather system moving in.
Thank you for the feedback Joel! The desktop version is pretty much identical to the app. Only difference is you don’t have the ability to track your route on the desktop/web version, and also it doesn’t have the camera button in the top right to take a picture like the app does.
Donnie is a great video on how to use some of the tools. I’ve been trying to figure out how to post some of the catches I have. So I just did one to test it. It was easy worked great now I’m excited to start posting some of my fish I catch thank you so much.
You’re welcome Jesse!
OMG, this is the best thing ever. I am so afraid of catching and keeping the wrong thing that I stopped fishing. This is amazing…. Thank you so much for this.
You’re welcome Stephen! I would also recommend cross-referencing the info given from the app. Always good to double check!
Thanks Tony always great information to know
You’re welcome James!
I used it this evening! Very handy!!
Awesome!
Very cool fish identifier!!
For sure!
I guess for an interesting conversation piece otherwise here in northeast fl jax and st aug area where I fish have never caught any fish but a few very small oddities that I would really care about because reds, flounder, and seatrout are the only fish I pursue and or eat and maybe the occasional accidently caught black drum that I have caught 2 in the past on lures believe it or not and not on a shrimp lure either but my spinnerbait very odd indeed but like I said pretty rare anyways thanks for the info and all you do
Yeah those species are pretty easy to identify for most of us. We get a lot of new anglers though.
Now that is friggin cool! Yes, reef fish in the Snapper and Grouper species can be a bit confusing. Nicely done Tony and Salt Strong.
Thank you for the feedback Scott!
