Only area in the Daytona Beach area I’ve spotted that’s wade-able is on the canaveral national seashore. $25 to get in is steep. Would love to see y’all come over here and highlight some areas in a video
I’ve waded down in CNS a few times and it’s worth the trip for sure. I’ll look into areas farther north to see what I can find. Thanks for the suggestion!
Great information! I’m visiting the the Jacksonville beach area in August and will be in a “fishing from shore” situation. I’ll be looking for tips the close the trip gets so thanks for the video!
Once it gets closer I would recommend posting in the Community to see what the current trends are and some suggestions for spots to try. Good luck on the trip!
I like to wade fish, but I find fishing for Flounder is tough when wade fishing for me
Flounder can be tough while wading there are ways to do it though. Make a post in the Community and ask others in your area where they have been successful
if you don’t have a boat or kayak, shore fishing is an option but recognize that high density areas have far fewer open areas to fish than sparsely populated locations. As for boaters and kayakers wishing to fish by wading, simply get to your shallow water spot and then hop out. Problem solved!
Is there any special gear needed for wading?
Wading boots are a must. Promate diving boots is what is use for the warmer months. A rod or 2 and a way to carry tackle and water.
Diego, Here’s a great article from Wader Dave on wading that is packed full of info:

Good point about hoping out of the boat for shallow water access, other than places like Texas, not too many people think about that.
NLBN- No Loaded Boat Needed!
Great info, even if I know you are biased against boats, lol.
NLBN, love it!
I’m not against boats, maybe a little jealous though!
Pat, this was very good info. Hope the newbies adopt these strategies. The angler who took 2nd place in my fishing clubs annual season long tournament caught 75% of his fish from shore. You really don’t need a boat.😃
Thanks John! There’s a lot of great spots to fish from land, you just have to look for them.
