Last week we posted our review of the “Deep Glow Green Dock Light“, and we mentioned that we did a side by side green light comparison while we were down on Little Gasparilla Island.
Well here is the review of the worthy green light adversary.
Green Glow Underwater Light Review
The Pros
- This Green Glow underwater green light was very easy to use and setup
- It came with a really long 50 foot cable (plenty for most all docks)
- It did not require getting in the water to place it
- The weight did a great job of keeping it directly on the bottom and pointing up every time we threw it in
- This was very easy to move around (and clean off)
- The automatic on/off feature was the shining light (pardon the pun) for this green light. It was so nice to just plug it in and never have to touch anything…the sun did all of the work for us
- It attracted a lot of snook
The Cons
- It did not put out the same bright “green glow” that the Deep Glow light did
- The bulb (although it was pretty thick glass) was exposed just like a normal light bulb would be, and we had to handle it with much more care as it certainly would have cracked or shattered had we accidently dropped it on concrete or something hard. Whereas the Deep Glow light felt so indestructible that if you dropped it from a two story building, it would probably hurt the concrete more than the light (it was a tank).

Conclusion
Overall, this Green Glow green light was a great purchase, it appears that it will last a very long time (as long as we never accidently drop the bulb), and it was priced very well.
And since the main reason we bought the lights were to attract and catch snook at our dock, this light did an amazing job. In fact, it was a dead even tie on how many snook we caught from the two lights (and we casted into them as evenly as possible).

I love the salt strong reviews of different products. I have a Green Glow Dock Light with 2 bulbs and they are bright and attract snook and tarpon. I did have an issue with a bulb burning out (no fault of the company, bulbs go bad) and they had no issue covering it under warrantee. Such a great product and great customer service. I highly recommend them. My dock has a lot more snook than my neighbor that has an LED light and he doesn’t have tarpon. I think fish like this green spectrum better than others. I highly recommend this light.
Well my wife purchased one for me about 3 years ago for my birthday. Initially it was awesome and I posted on their website saying the same. Since I have sent it back 3 times which is a PITA plus somewhat costly. Short story long. It will attract fish but has a short lifespan. The last time I sent it back it was returned with cuts in the power cord. I taped the cuts up rather than sending it back yet again. Basically I would recommend going with another brand.
