You asked about a confidence bait to hang below a popping cork. Believe it or not, this one catches fish when nothing else will. Berkley PowerBait Pogy Swim Shad Fishing Soft Bait. Along the texas gulf coast we generally use the chartreuse color. Buy several packs. Your buddies will be begging you for them. So will the trout.

Great video, Lotta info. The only thing I have used under a popping cork is live shrimp or live fish like mullet. Hanging an artificial under one sounds interesting especially with prawn lure.

I like to use the 2” Vudu Shrimp by Egrett baits Ususlly use about a 24” leader with a Fairhope Rattle cork. Good combination for me.
