I’ve got some EXCITING news to share with you.
If you’ve been part of this family for any length of time, you know Luke and I bleed Salt Strong.
We’ve spent the past 10 years building this community, creating gear we believe in, and doing everything we can to help YOU catch more fish and make more memories on the water.
Well… we just made one of the biggest moves in Salt Strong history.
Yes, Salt Strong has officially been acquired.
BUT, this is NOT private equity, this is NOT venture capital, and this is NOT one of those gut-and-flip deals you’ve probably seen ruin other brands.
Not only that, Luke and I are still running the company, and will be for many years to come.

Hey guys, can you recommend foul weather gear for fishing?
why can’t you name the parent company now and will you ever be able to name them? I like what you are saying but at the same time I’m not big on secrets like that. and no I am not asking for individuals names.

Awesome! I am very happy for the both of you. I am retired and on a budget, so I am always looking for a deal on a cup of coffee, lunch and so on, which is why I am happy to be a part of the club; besides, I can use all the help I can get to improve my catching. It’s alot more fun then just aimlessly wondering around the flats.

I do have a couple of questions.
When I was on the site, I noticed that you have to spend $99 for free shipping. Will that change for members to the $50?
How will the SS inventory merge?
Do we shop both places once this is in place and active?
or do we shop SS for their products,
and then SG for their products?
Didn’t know if it was going to be a one-stop shop eventually.

Great question, Keith. This is definitely NOT a merger – so Salt Strong will remain an independent club, and so will Sportsman’s Guide. Basically, you’re getting a free SG membership for being an Insider (so think of it like a BOGO deal). At some point, it might make more sense to merge inventory, but not anytime soon. Stay tuned for more!
Keith, Free shipping if $50 or more is spent unless recently changed. The banner message about tackle store closing seems to have replaced the free shipping message. Even the shipping page says nothing about free shipping amount. Had to do a search in the Community to find the info.
