There’s Much More to Smart Fishing Spots!

Salt Strong Members enjoy access to our game-changing Smart Fishing Spots app. Available on your computer and your phone, it puts a ton of information at your fingertips to help you catch more fish in less time!

Smart Spots point out places that are likely to hold fish. It’s not just a spot map, though. Taking into consideration the season, tides, and more, it updates every 15 minutes to show what areas to target and how productive they should be. You can even look into the future to help plan ahead.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg. We have A TON OF FEATURES built in:

  • Hourly Strike Score feeding predictions
  • Tides
  • Weather predictions
  • Weather radar with cell direction and lightning detection
  • Seagrass and oyster layers
  • 1-foot bottom contours
  • Multiple satellite images and shaded relief
  • Boat ramps and launch spots
  • Public and private lands
  • And much more!!!

We’re working hard to ensure that Smart Fishing Spots is the best fishing app available. We’re not done, though. Our talented development team is constantly finding new ways to improve the app and make it even more valuable for both planning your trip and making decisions once you’re out there.

Thanks for the overview Tony – I tried using this when I was out in my kayak last week. It worked great, until I put my phone (Samsung Galaxy) back in my pocket and let it go to sleep. When I opened the app back up, all of the tracking was lost and I had to start all over. I tried a couple of times to get it to work to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Thanks Tony!

I hadn’t looked at that feature. I have been paying to use OnX Hunt as a tracker on my phone. This feature will save me some $. Thanks SS for continuing to improve the App.

If only they could figure out how to incorporate ‘Windy.”

Thanks Tony it was helpful and one of these days I guess I’ll figure it all out …. One problem is that I have not been any to fish as much as I would have like to but that is about to change …. Getting my health back to somewhat normal so I am ready to go … Once again thank you ….. !

Thank you for this video tutorial on the Smart Fishing Spots tracks feature. The longer I immerse myself in the SS apps, the better our fishing and boating have become, and the more meaningful the experiences are.

is it limited to lower speed craft like kayaks or will it work on full size bay boats at higher speeds? Also, can it run in the background (like if you open it, leave it going, and switch to look at another app during the trip) or does the app need to stay open so you see it all the time to record the track?

yes you can use it on regular boat, car, etc. and it will record track in background while phone screen is off/sleeping.

I hesitate saying anything negative because I love SS and because it might have been user-error, but, I have tried it several times in the past and it seems when I unknowingly get a break in cellular or satellite connection, and then I return to see my tracking, it seems to stop having leaving breadcrumbs??? That is in my kayak where I am not moving fast. Anyone relying on tracking to get back home, may want to use a back up such as google maps, drop a pin, save it, and reference it if tracker fails and vice versa.
