Wade Fishing Low Tide: 4 Key Lessons That Put Us On Fish Fast

It was one of those days… the wind was up, the tide was way out, and we ran into boat issues before we could even launch.
But that made it the perfect case study for what Salt Strong is all about: helping everyday anglers adapt, overcome, and keep catching fish no matter the conditions.
We waded out from a public shoreline and still found redfish and trout feeding in super shallow water.
Along the way, I’ll share some simple lessons that’ll help you stay confident, read the water, and catch more fish even when the plan falls apart.

Great job John, way to keep the focus! Not easy when you have Luke drawing strike after strike a few feet away, but you stuck to your game and in the end it paid off. And congrats on that first red, well earned!
Luke when you’re wading do you always retie when you switch lures or do you use a clip?
I never use clips or swivels because I believe it helps to go with as little terminal tackle as possible. After practice with a loop knot, it only takes about 10 seconds and about 2 inches of leader line to retie.
Thanks!
What a great trip, everything works out for a reason Luke. Learned a lot from your and Pat’s videos! Thanks.
Thanks Leo
Looks like a super fun trip! Hopefully, the boat will be back in action soon.
Thanks Kristin!
Great info. That’s my style of fishing. I mostly use the boat to get to the spot then wade after that.🎣
It’s tough to beat wade fishing when in need of sneaking up on big fish.
Great video Luke! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Frank!
Interesting video, thanks!
Thanks John!
Cool video. I haven’t wade-fished in years, but that looked like a lot of fun.
Thanks for making time to post the nice comment Michael!
Terrific video illustrating how to adapt to all situations, and adjusting your approach/tactics. Fun seeing John out there with Luke too 🙂
Thanks Sara!
