Salt Strong + Freedom Boat Club 3-Part Fishing Series!

We are beyond excited to announce a 3-Part video series with Freedom Boat Club!
Lots of questions came in asking us to demonstrate how you can catch loads of fish when fishing using the types of boats that are provided by Freedom Boat Club (or other boat clubs).
Usually, their fleets don’t include boats with trolling motors or Power-Poles. And the draft on their boats won’t enable you to get into very shallow water (unless they have flats boats available).
So can you still fish for redfish, sea trout, snook, flounder, and other inshore species with boats from Freedom Boat Club?
ABSOLUTELY!
In this video series, you will learn how you can drift flats, fish bridges, and even troll for trout without the use of a trolling motor or power pole and all at the same time catch TONS of inshore saltwater fish.
Take a look right here!!
Trolling For Trout [VIDEO]
In this video, we reveal the fastest way to find fish in a new area with just one simple lure.
Also, a fast and easy technique you can use anytime the bite is slow!
Easy Drift Trick [VIDEO]
Next, we use the wind to drift fish an area with crazy success.
If you are struggling to effectively drift a flat without a trolling motor, then this is the video for you!
Bridge Fishing With Shrimp [VIDEO]
Lastly, we use live shrimp to show the best way to fish small bridges for mangrove snapper.
Using a weedless shrimp rig in these scenarios is one of our favorite ways to find feeding fish around bridge pilings.

absolutely loved these videos. I am a member of FBC and these were very helpful! Thanks guys!
I am always looking for another way to get tight lines! I watched all 3 videos and enjoyed them. No matter how you get educated, you always pick up something you missed before. Thanks for taking the time to do the video. I get a lot of information at SaltStrong and am applying it to fishing off Yankeetown and Crystal River. I have so much to learn fishing that area as it is somewhat treacherous. Thanks again! Pete
I am a Salt Strong member. I love your site I buy from your store.
I have fished trout in Florida for forty years. When I started I was a big fan of Florida Sportsman and I learned way back then you should never handle a trout (especially Trout) without first wetting your hand. Even though it is often a pain I can’t handle a trout without first wetting my hand. You guys are the experts-am I waisting my time.
They say trout have a epidural mucus (slime) which is its first defense against harm (fungus and disease). By wetting your hand you decrease the amount of Slime that gets removed.
I will never be able to remove a trout without wetting my hand but I would love to know how you guys (experts) feel about it.
Thanks
Hey Rod! Great stuff. Yes, wetting your hands is a good practice but it really doesn’t hurt the trout. Back in the day, everyone just assumed it was causing a ton of harm but there have been multiple studies on trout that show the slime removal wasn’t as big of a deal as we thought. We had the leading researcher from Texas on the podcast to discuss and it was eye-opening. In one study, they would literally wipe every bit of slime off trout and track them – none died. But what killed them 90% of the deep hooking them. That was the big learning lesson.
We moved to Marco Island about 2 years ago. Compared to Miami fishing, this is a whole new world of fishing on the gulf coast. Since I didn’t really know where to start, I ended up not going out fishing far too many weekends in the past. Since joining Salt Strong, I can’t wait to go out fishing every weekend because there are so many options. It’s videos like these last 3 that have been the most help. Thank you Salt Strong!
I’m a member of both and this video series was great, thanks for doing it for us
Great video guys. I’m a Freedom boat club member and this video is a big help. Thanks.
Thanks for the great videos. I have been a Carefree boat club member in the North Miami area for 6 years and over time you learn some “work arounds” for things when you don’t own the boat. Salt Strong provides lots of great information to make fishing easier and more fun. The new SS Fishing App is even more helpful to find sea grass and know proper tide situations if you can’t mount a trolling motor and need to drift on flats and channels. I’ve caught lots of nice fish using my club boat.
One quick thought for club boaters without a trolling motor is getting a quick-release anchor set-up. I need it for tarpon fishing but it really helps for quiet, anchoring in shallow water versus having to use the standard boat anchor. Plus you can always use it as a second anchor if you only have a bow anchor. I use a small anchor which you can get at any marine store, keep it in a 5-gallon plastic bucket for easy transport and have 50 feet of line attached with a float tied (optional) on the end. You can quietly put the anchor down from the rear of the boat and tie on a cleat if you get on a “hot-spot” while drifting.
(I use the float for tarpon fishing when you have to quickly untie the line and chase the fish before the tarpon empties your reel.)
Thanks for all the advice you continue to provide!
The membership in Salt Strong is great. I grew up fishing Lake Okeechobee, never salt water, you guys have made it easy good job, thanks.
Looks like a great way to fish the dog days of summer. Most prople that I fish with stop fishing when the weather gets hot. I feel like a rookie fishing that way but I happen to love Tight Lines. Thanks for the video.
Love what you do for us week in and out thank you. Keep it up.
