DieZel MinnowZ Review: How To Rig Them, Where To Use Them & More

Bigger redfish, snook, and tarpon around inlets and passes aren’t looking for a small meal, so it’s best to use big baits in these areas.
In this review, I’m breaking down the Z-Man DieZel MinnowZ.
In particular, I’m sharing my thoughts on the 7″ model.

When & Where To Use The DieZel MinnowZ
Since big baits catch big fish, it’s best to use these lures around where big fish hang out.
That’s typically near inlets and passes.
You can also use them if you see a school of bull reds cruising down a flat.
As far as when to use them, baitfish are at their biggest during the late summer and fall, so these are the best times to use them.
How To Rig The DieZel MinnowZ
If you’re using them around deep inlets, passes, and docks, you’ll most likely want to use a jig head to get them to the bottom quicker.
Z-Man and TT Lures made the HeadlockZ, which is perfect for the DieZel MinnowZ.

If you’re fishing shallow docks, mangroves, or flats, you might want to go with a weighted swimbait hook.
In this case, I recommend the ChinlockZ hook.

And no matter what hook you use to rig these lures, just make sure that the bait is rigged straight and even on the lure.
If it’s crooked, you’re much less likely to catch fish.

That big, honkin’ paddletail makes your hands look small haha! That would probably be a good snook and tarpon bait at night.
