Are You Fishing Too Deep For Redfish? (Common Redfish Mistake)

http://shallow%20water%20redfish

It’s redfish time!

The other day I found redfish in a spot where most anglers would never look for them.

And to be honest, I wasn’t exactly looking for them here at first, either… I just kind of stumbled upon them!

It’s the middle of summer and it was in the heat of the day, so you would expect them to be in the shade or in deeper water…

But that wasn’t the case at all!

Check out the video below to see how shallow redfish will actually go in search of food, and how you can find them there.

Enjoy!

Can you believe they were that shallow in the middle of the day?!

Since redfish have flat bellies and like to eat crustaceans, they’re not afraid to go in water as shallow as 6 inches (or less!) in search of a meal.

So the next time you’re hunting for redfish, don’t count out really shallow water!

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen that same thing. Best part is when you find something like that you’ll have the place to yourself because no one will be looking there. That red coming up to crush your lure shows that they were actively feeding. Got to hate when they turn like that though. Must have seen you at the last second. Nice video

I’ve caught plenty of summertime reds in 90 degree 2 feet or less water in the middle of the day. They will even hit topwater. Like Tony said though, being stealthy is a must.
