The Secret I Discovered Going FOUR DAYS Without A Phone…

http://broken%20iphone

A broken phone…

For most of us, a broken phone means we drop everything we are doing and rush to the closest phone store, right?

I mean, it’s crazy how addicted we are to these tools…

It even feels silly describing four days like it was eternity without a phone…

But it was…

And dropping everything to rush to the closest store is exactly what I did!

However, after the Verizon tech told me he couldn’t do anything to fix my somewhat new iPhone at the store, I was left with two options…

  1. Mail-in my iPhone to Apple so they could fix and send back (using Apple Care is fast, but this was still a solid 5-day turnaround)
  2. Drive to the closest Apple Store (over an hour away) and see if they can fix it (however, my calendar was jammed packed for the next 3 days).

So even though I knew I couldn’t get to the Apple Store for three more days, I chose to go “phone-less” to see what would happen.

The results shocked me…

Not only did I not miss out on a single thing… but the “emergencies” in my life decreased ten-fold.

I FELT MORE ENGAGED.

I WAS LESS STRESSED.

I PRAYED MORE.

I LISTENED MORE.

I PLAYED WITH MY KIDS OUTSIDE MORE.

I TALKED WITH MY WIFE MORE.

I DIDN’T HAVE A SINGLE “TEXT DISTRACTION”

PLUS, I DIDN’T HAVE TO HEAR A SINGLE THING ABOUT POLITICS… (extra bonus)

All in all, everything in life was better.

So listen in as I share everything that happened (and why I highly recommend everyone take a 3-4 day cold-turkey break from your phone).

How right you are about how we all made out in life WITHOUT cell phones. A necessity in some situations but, an addiction that absolutely cripples folks’ ability to focus on the IMPORTANT things in life that you speak about Joe !! I did a little experiment the other day in WallyWorld as, I noticed that a super-majority of people had their heads down looking at their phones. In a somewhat elevated decibel range I said HELLO !! The reaction was priceless, as everyone looked up, over their shoulders & up at the ceiling !! It was like everyone was momentarily awakened from a trance !! Could it be that maybe, just maybe, we should try a bit to get back to “the basics” in life ??!?!!?!?!? God Bless !!!
