While shedding a few tears at my grandfather’s funeral (he was a month away from turning 94 so it was definitely a celebration of life), my Uncle Kenny said something I won’t forget.
He said my grandfather never sweated the small stuff… and that as he saw it, EVERYTHING was small stuff.
In a word, my grandfather practiced life with utmost tranquility.
Nothing got to him.
I never once saw him stressed or bent out of shape.
So as we recently moved into our new house, I noticed that the previous owners actually permanently affixed the word Tranquility on the front gate of the house.
Wow.
What a great reminder to live every day with this attitude.
