You’re chasing redfish…
And every shoreline starts to look the same.
Grass.
Open lanes.
Random pockets.
But here’s the deal…
There’s one pattern that works just about anywhere redfish roam.
Texas…
Florida…
Louisiana…
Even the Carolinas.
And if you know what to look for…
You can find fish fast… even in water you’ve never seen before.
Watch below to see exactly how to find and fish these redfish zones

Key Takeaways:
- Redfish follow predictable feeding patterns across all regions
- Marsh drains act like a conveyor belt of food
- The last part of an outgoing tide is often the best window
- Starting too close can push fish out before you ever cast
- Simple lure choices and retrieves get the job done
Final Thoughts
Redfish aren’t random.
They’re predictable… if you know what to look for.
And this is one of those patterns you can lean on…
Just about anywhere they swim.

Great info, Pat. Thx. Quick question. I live in Tampa Bay…are there marsh in this area?
Great video Pat. I’m definitely gonna try that.
thanks Pat! another great video!
Thanks Pat, great video as always. I have found that fishing drains is productive but however as you say… timing is everything
Does this work with mangrove swamp drains or just marsh drains?
Great info I need to start using the waypoints.
Thanks Pat the reds here in Texas are in trouble now!
Nice Pat, thanks. This reminded me of my experience fishing a ‘drain’ like that right after getting my new kayak. I threw to the left side and kept pulling in nice sized trout – about 8 or 9. When I cast to the right side I caught about 4 or 5 nice Redfish – all from sitting in one spot at the drain. Eventually the tide went slack, and the bite just flat out stopped. Good time for lunch. Thanks again for the reminder.
Verbatim what happened to me last week. Trout and Flounder in the deep hole and redfish on the shallow bar. They can be great places.
now I want to go to a Brazilian steak house 🙂
I must have been hungry when I recorded that!🤣
Great info. Thanks Pat
You are welcome! Thanks for watching and!
